Born in Benin and raised in Lagos, he developed the sound and guitar prowess that led to tours and studio work with Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Lauryn Hill, and more. After formative years performing in church, he joined King Sunny Ade’s ensemble, then toured worldwide with Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80. Now based in New York City, he leads Super Yamba Band, channeling raw, psychedelic West African vibes. Their debut album, Mèdaho, released on Ubiquity Records, honors Kaleta’s late brother who first introduced him to funk and soul, and its title translates to big brother, elder, or teacher. Kids can team up with an adult in a two person kayak for a guided exploration of Lake Brandt. Designed for ages 4 to 12, this on the water experience is led by lake staff and focuses on discovery. Each child receives a laminated booklet featuring things found on the lake, with space to mark what they can see or hear. Registration covers one adult and one child. Three sessions are offered throughout the summer, and the cost is $30.

Explore the essentials of clay in a hands-on workshop guided by a professional artist from Creative Aging Network. Beginners are welcome. You will learn foundational hand-building, experiment with shaping, and try simple surface decoration while creating a unique piece of your own. The setting is calm and encouraging, inviting mindfulness, creativity, and personal expression. Participants leave with new skills, a completed clay work, and fresh inspiration to continue making art.

The high-energy performance is built for sing-alongs, dancing, and nostalgic memories. Paired with great food and the excitement that only live music creates, this one-night event celebrates the group’s sound, spirit, and legacy.

Lettuce brings the Cook Tour to The Pyrle, celebrating Cook, a release on their Lettuce Records label that blends funk, soul, jazz, rock, and hip hop. The music keeps a generous dose of the group’s signature funk while saluting inspirations like James Brown and the JB’s and honoring mentors Tower of Power and Maceo Parker. The six life-long partners Adam Deitch on drums, Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff on guitar, Erick “Maverick” Coomes on bass, Ryan “Zoid” Zoidis on saxophones and synths, Eric “Benny” Bloom on trumpet, and Nigel Hall on vocals and keyboards continue to expand their musical palette. The album follows tours with GZA of Wu-Tang Clan and Ziggy Marley, along with a live album and concert film created with the Colorado Symphony. Cook also debuted alongside Lettuce Red Crush and Orange Crush wines in collaboration with Aquila Cellars, plus a limited recipe book of pairings included with the vinyl and digital release. This chapter finds the band bringing long-held ideas to fruition with an innovative team and a devout fan base behind them.

Sierra Ferrell brings the Heavy Petal Tour to the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. In partnership with PLUS1, $1 from each ticket supports the National Immigrant Law Center and its efforts to protect and expand opportunities for low-income immigrant communities and their families. Ticket access includes several options, including a public onsale, artist and local presales, VIP package offerings, and a Live Nation presale.
