Returning for its third year, this running event offers three ways to participate: a 10k, a Half Marathon, or the River Rage Challenge for those who want to complete both races. The courses follow different routes along the Cape Fear River Trail, a paved greenway beside the river, with the start and finish located at Cape Fear Botanical Garden. On-course support will be available, and pets are not permitted. The 10k travels along portions of Linear Park Trail and the Cape Fear River Trail, passing under one trail trestle, with an aid station at the 2.83-mile turnaround. The time limit is 90 minutes, which aligns with a 14:29 per mile pace. The Half Marathon covers 13.35 miles on the Cape Fear River Trail, going under two covered trestles and by a waterfall, with aid stations at Clark Park near approximately miles 3.1 and 10.37 and at the turnaround at 6.78 miles. The time limit is 3 hours and 15 minutes, about a 14:52 per mile pace. Those choosing the River Rage will run the 10k first, then continue with the Half Marathon to earn a bonus challenge medal. If you finish the 10k before the Half Marathon begins, wait and start with the field. If you finish after it begins, simply keep going. A medal tent will be set up near the finish to collect finisher medals, and each race will use distinct bibs for easy identification. An optional VIP experience is available for a limited number of entrants and includes access to a private heated tent, VIP-only refreshments, bag storage, and a dedicated line for early packet pickup. Packet pickup will be offered in advance at a to-be-announced location, with a separate VIP line providing prepackaged materials, and race morning pickup will also be available. There is no race day registration.
