Weekly, free 50-minute yoga classes are offered at the Fayetteville Beyond Blue Neighborhood Center by the Raleigh-based nonprofit You Call This Yoga. The schedule rotates between two formats: Chair Yoga on select weeks, with chairs provided, and Mat Yoga on alternating weeks. Please bring a mat if you have one, and a limited number will be available to borrow. Space is limited, so reserving in advance is recommended.

Free art therapy sessions are available to cancer patients in the Cancer Treatment and CyberKnife Center conference room. Use the elevator down from the Cancer Center lobby to reach the space. On the first Wednesday of each month, the sessions move to the Cancer Treatment and CyberKnife Center lobby. No prior art experience is required, and a variety of materials will be used. The sessions are led by certified art therapist Yael Divon. Drop-ins are welcome. Art therapy is a mental health practice guided by an art therapist that uses art making and the creative process to explore feelings, lower stress and anxiety, build self-awareness, address emotional conflicts, support behavior management, and strengthen a sense of reality and self-esteem. The aim is to improve or restore day-to-day functioning and personal well-being, and it can be helpful for people dealing with medical, developmental, educational, social, or psychological challenges. It offers another way to communicate when words are hard to find, and it provides the life-affirming experience of creating art. The focus is on the process rather than the finished piece. Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation and Cape Fear Valley Cancer Centers recognize these benefits and provide this extended care for patients.
