A community gallery reception centers on Mirage, a series by mixed media artist Natalie Schorr that reflects on a world growing more uncertain. The work considers how democracy, human compassion, and the natural world can feel fragile, almost illusory, and it invites reflection on where truth resides. Schorr’s background spans more than a decade as an art director and set designer for film and television, followed by years devoted to raising her children. She began with realistic drawing and watercolor, then in 1999 expanded into printmaking, exploring early photopolymer processes and other less toxic techniques. Over time her practice has moved toward analog collage and mixed media with drawing, bringing together salvaged and recycled materials alongside hand printed and hand drawn elements. She holds a BFA in Costume Design from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and an MFA in Scene Design from Carnegie Mellon University. After living in several cities across five states, she returned to Greensboro, where her home studio includes a large printing press and an extensive collection of vintage magazines, wallpapers, and ephemera.

In this two hour, hands on class, choose a dish shape and select the color for your piece, then carve your own sgrafitto artwork into it. After the session, each piece will be bisque fired and glaze fired, and finished work will be ready for pickup in about two to three weeks.

The setlist channels the energy of the Live and Loud 1993 era and reaches across the catalog, from Black Sabbath classics to cuts like Patient #9. Vinny Cormier has toured since 1977 and has worked alongside artists such as Molly Hatchet, Eddie Money, Blue Oyster Cult, Quiet Riot, Steve Perry of Journey, Kansas, John Cafferty, and Marshall Tucker. This engagement is part of the Carolina Theatre Presents Series at the historic Carolina Theatre of Greensboro.
