Monroe’s Fall Fest 2026 transforms Historic Downtown Monroe as Main Street closes to vehicles and fills with more than 85 local craft vendors, games, entertainment, food, drinks, and live music. A new Kids Market celebrates young entrepreneurs and adds even more energy to the day. Food options feature Southern Fried Factory, Jae’s Caribbean Kitchen, Kate’s Clyde’s BBQ, and Patty and the Dogs, along with multiple dessert vendors. Activities include a rock wall with Rock Therapy, axe throwing with Axe Doods, a kids ride with Fire Doods, the Bounce N Play obstacle course, face painting, and more. Registered Scouts can complete every requirement for the Mining in Society merit badge during a focused workshop at Reed Gold Mine. The workshop opens with a slide presentation and classroom time to work through the badge workbook. Afterward, participants take a guided tour of the underground mine to learn about the site’s history and the gold mining process. If weather allows, the experience includes hands-on gold panning in the outdoor panning area. The registration fee is $15 per Scout and covers the workshop, the tour, and one panning ticket, weather permitting. Adult leaders and chaperones may purchase a panning ticket in the gift shop on a first come, first served basis for $4 after tax. Dogs take center stage at this dog-only Trunk n Treat, now in its sixth year at Carolina Pet Pantry. Accepted materials include papers, folders, file folders, paper clips, and staples. A community caravan to a Christmas tree farm returns in honor of Norm Adams, a core CC4Jeeps member who helped connect the group with Common Heart, Racing4ALS, and Hometown Heroes of Monroe. This annual tradition supports WNC and small local businesses, with proceeds this year directed to Racing4ALS in Norm’s name. The day begins at Food Lion and continues in a convoy to Hidden Cove Tree Farm along a planned route that uses 485, 16, 40, and 221. The farm has been heavily impacted by Helene. Purchasing a tree is optional, and there are other ways to show support such as wreaths and bows. Participants may bring a chainsaw or have staff handle the cutting and secure the tree to the vehicle. Tarps or blankets and tie-down tools are recommended, and supplies are available on site. A minimum donation of $10 per car applies with pre-registration, or $15 at the event, and those who cannot attend may donate to Racing4ALS noting Norm Adams’s name. Pre-registration with payment is planned for wreaths, quantities are limited, and cash is required on the day of the event. There is also an option for non-attendees to order wreaths for pickup by the group until the allotted limit is reached. Group photos are part of the plan, everyone is welcome regardless of vehicle type, and participants should be able to transport any tree they select. The event takes place rain or shine, so dressing in layers with closed-toe shoes or boots and gloves for cutting is recommended. Radios operate on channel 3. Participation is at your own risk, and the schedule includes lunch and an afternoon activity with more information to be shared as the event approaches.
