From April to September, the first Friday each month turns N. Central Ave into a lively cruise-in featuring classic cars, music, and local vendors. Enthusiasts showcase their vehicles while visitors stroll the street and enjoy an easygoing evening with the community. Part of the First Fridays concert series at St. Luke’s, this organ program centers on the music of Louis Vierne. Stephen Williams, Director of Music at St. Luke’s, performs selections including Carillon de Westminster, Impromptu, the Toccata in B minor, and the Organ Symphony No. 4, Op. 32. Violist Kate Middel appears as a special guest. Admission is free, and donations support Arts at St. Luke’s.

The Soap Shack NC, LLC and Sawdust, Sparks, Stitches will be set up as vendors at the Salisbury/Rowan Farmers' Market with a broad selection of handmade goods. Shoppers can explore XL goat’s milk soaps in more than 40 scents along with goat’s milk laundry soaps, mop soaps, all purpose cleaners, bath bombs, bath salts, goat’s milk lotions, beard oils and beard balms, linen and room sprays, dog shampoos, lip balms, lip scrubs, car diffusers, wash rags, loofahs, and soy wax candles and melts. Their table also features farmhouse aprons, baby wash rags, bib and burp cloth sets, jar openers, tea towels, flower pots, dog bandanas, birdhouses, key wristlets, and bowl cozies. Everything is handmade from scratch on their farm by the two of them.

The second annual Back to School Bazaar is a free community gathering that helps Rowan County families get ready for a new school year while connecting them with local organizations, programs, and resources for children from birth through high school. Expect complimentary school supplies, hot meals, and haircuts, along with entertainment, activities for all ages, and raffles and giveaways. Laptops from E2D will be available for $100, and local vendors and community resource groups will be present to share information and support. More than a supply pickup, this is a resource fair that brings together families, nonprofits, and supporters to help students start strong. SHUG’s at Brooklyn South Square hosts a karaoke night featuring DJ Wayne’s World and a wide selection of songs for all experience levels. Guests can take the mic solo or with friends and enjoy drinks while the music keeps going. Specials include $1 Hamm’s and $1 off Malört. Entry is free, and the venue is for ages 21 and up.

Enjoy free line dancing lessons at the Swanee, hosted by Lucky Line Dancing. The program includes a beginner session followed by an intermediate session, welcoming participants of all ages and experience levels. Wear comfortable shoes, boots are not required, and bring plenty of water. No registration is needed.

Stallings Memorial Baptist Church offers a free, drive-through food distribution. Each address may receive one bag of food, with a limit of two bags per vehicle. Enter through the designated entrance, where an attendant will assign a number and direct you to a place in line. Service is provided in the order of arrival.

The LIVE After Five Summer Social Series wraps up at New Sarum Brewing Company with a finale centered on 90s and 2000s throwback trivia hosted by Nicky and Dillon. Created for young professionals ages 21 to 45 who live or work in Rowan County, this gathering concludes a free series focused on building connections and community. Expect casual networking and opportunities to reconnect with friends or meet new people while putting knowledge of the 90s and 2000s to the test. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. No membership is required and no RSVP is needed, making it easy to stop by and enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
