The One Mic Stand Open Mic Spotlight Series brings a welcoming night of performances to WiredCoffeeEspress. Each edition features a highlighted local performer, followed by an open mic where seasoned artists and first-timers can share songs, stories, poetry, comedy, readings, music, and more. Sign-up takes place on arrival, and admission is free. The audience is warm and supportive, offering a relaxed setting to enjoy coffee and celebrate local artistry from around Kannapolis, NC.

Thomas the Tank Engine rolls into the North Carolina Transportation Museum for a music themed Day Out With Thomas. This family event, presented at heritage railways worldwide, includes a ticketed train ride with a full size Thomas the Tank Engine and access to a day packed with activities. Percy rides can be added for an extra fee, and this is the only spot in North Carolina that offers train rides with Percy. Onsite fun includes photos with Sir Topham Hatt, a maze built from hay bales, temporary tattoos, character inflatables, oversized lawn games, a music show, model railroad layouts, food vendors, picnic shelters, and a large gift shop. Visitors can also explore three exhibit buildings that highlight North Carolina’s transportation history, featuring rail cars, antique automobiles, and a replica of the Wright Brothers flyer.

Families are invited to a free, hands-on Touch-A-Truck experience presented by the Town of Landis. Kids can climb in and get a close look at a wide range of vehicles, including fire trucks, police cruisers, dump trucks, utility trucks, and more. Meet the professionals who operate the equipment, ask questions, and take plenty of photos. The event is designed for all ages, with lights and sirens and plenty of smiles creating a fun and educational atmosphere in the heart of Landis. Admission is free and the outing is especially welcoming for children and anyone curious about the machines that keep the community running.

This community drum circle provides instruments on site, so there is no need to bring any gear. The setting is welcoming to families and participants of all ages, offering a relaxed way to make music together.

Soap Shack NC, LLC and Sawdust, Sparks, Stitches will be set up at the Salisbury/Rowan Farmers' Market with a broad selection of handmade bath, body and home items. Look for XL goat milk soap bars in more than 40 fragrances, along with goat milk laundry soap, mop soap, all purpose cleaners, bath bombs and bath salts, goat milk lotions, beard oil and balm, linen and room sprays, dog shampoo, lip balms and lip scrubs, car diffusers, wash rags, loofahs and soy wax candles and melts. They will also have a variety of sewn and crafted goods including farmhouse aprons, baby wash rags, coordinated bib and burp cloth sets, jar openers, tea towels, flower pots, dog bandanas, birdhouses, key wristlets and bowl coozies. Every piece is made from scratch on their farm by the two makers.

The China Grove Farmers Market takes place at Hanna Park, where farmers offer produce and other agricultural goods. Vendor participation is free for the full season, and applications are limited to farmers who sell produce and other farm products.
