NC MedAssist’s Mobile Free Pharmacy will be on site at the Pitt County Health Department with no-cost, over-the-counter health essentials for individuals and families. Attendees can choose from items such as pain and allergy relief, cold and cough care, digestive support, vitamins, and options for children, all available free of charge. Organized with community partners, some stops may also include added services like free health screenings and vaccinations. Any North Carolina resident age 18 or older may participate, with no additional eligibility requirements. Walk-ins are welcome and no registration is needed. For a quicker visit, participants may place an online preorder in advance and pick it up at the event, and it is also possible to collect preordered items for someone who cannot attend. Explore the microscopic world during a hands-on homeschool outdoor learning experience at River Park North. Staff lead a once-a-month morning adventure, providing materials and guidance for each activity. In this micro exploration session, participants learn basic microscope skills, gather natural samples, and prepare them for viewing. This program is designed for ages 7 and older with an accompanying adult. Each child must be pre-registered for the session. Space is limited to 12 participants. Settle in for a half hour hayride that circles a 31 acre pond, then gather by the campfire to roast marshmallows after you return. Advance registration is required and the fee is per person. The cost is $12, with a discounted resident rate of $10. Children younger than 2 ride free when seated on an adult lap. Open to all ages when accompanied by an adult.
