Comic Con Nebraska is a new show from the recently established Octopus Events Group, launched in Omaha by a team with deep roots in fan conventions. Using research, maps, photographs, and compelling storytelling, Stolp connects floods, geography, politics, and legal rulings to show how a natural shift redrew lines on the map and reshaped life on both sides of the river. Backed by academic training in anthropology, religious studies, and history, along with experience in regional museums and preservation groups, he offers an engaging, well-researched look at one of the most unusual border disputes in the country.

This FolkHouse at the Castle features singer-songwriter and former Nebraskan Brad Colerick performing at the Joslyn Castle Carriage House. Onstage he is warm and conversational, chatting with the audience and sharing stories between songs. Colerick leads Wine & Song, a weekly South Pasadena showcase he has guided for 14 years that brings together touring and local artists, and he is often nicknamed South Pasadena’s Nighttime Mayor for nurturing a welcoming music community. He also tests new material at the Jacaranda Veranda, a series curated by music impresario John Antich, who encouraged a compilation of Colerick’s songs, helped select the tracks, and served as executive producer.
