Rivier University Men’s Basketball is hosting its Summer Prospect Camp 2 for incoming players. This NCAA D3 Men’s Basketball prospect and ID camp includes admissions tours available prior to camp and gives participants a chance to play in front of the coaching staff on the home floor. Check-in is at 12:30 PM, and the camp runs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Ages 14 and up are invited.

His work with Punch Brothers garnered a Grammy for Best Folk Album for All Ashore. He is an inductee of the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame in the Five-String Performance category. Duncan began playing at seven and went on to collect four Grammys, a series of Academy of Country Music honors, and nine IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year titles. A versatile multi-instrumentalist on fiddle, banjo, guitar, and mandolin, he moves easily beyond bluegrass while remaining rooted in its tradition. Renowned for improvisation that elevates the music rather than overtaking it, he has collaborated with Plant Krauss, Diana Krall, Lyle Lovett, Béla Fleck, Steven Tyler, and Elvis Costello. The event highlights bluegrass roots alongside boundary-crossing creativity from two acclaimed instrumentalists.

Week 7 of Beaver Brook’s Summer Nature Camp welcomes ages 5 to 14 for a full slate of outdoor discovery. At Wasserman Park Beach on Naticook Lake, Merrimack Parks and Recreation offers an introductory stand up paddleboarding session. Abbie Griffin Park hosts the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department’s free Thursday Night Live summer concert series, offering live music in a variety of styles. This edition features children’s performer Sammie Haynes, whose award-winning songs have delighted young listeners and their families from New England to the West Coast for more than 30 years, with recognition that includes Parent’s Choice and National Parenting Publications awards. She enjoys engaging with kids during performances and uses humor to keep the experience lively. Based in southern Maine, she also teaches Music Together and performs adult music with her Rhythm and Roots and Texas swing band, MAINESQUEEZE, as well as with her husband, singer-songwriter Cormac McCarthy.
