Nightmare on Marsha Ave Book Club

Free Public Library of Monroe Township, 713 Marsha Ave, Williamstown · verified Aug 30
    See details

Nightmare on Marsha Ave Book Club is a monthly gathering of readers who enjoy stories that lean eerie, strange, or thrilling. Selections range across gothic fiction, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, and psychological thrillers. Not every title is traditional horror, but each pick explores the weird, the dark, or the delightfully unsettling, with an emphasis on variety and diverse voices. Some books may include strong language, disturbing themes, or sensitive topics, so consider looking into the content ahead of time to make sure it is a good fit. The club sometimes spotlights graphic novels or short stories instead of a full-length book, and participants may choose whichever option they prefer. Reading materials are often available through the library or online. Short stories are typically free on the web, and many graphic novels can be found on Hoopla or through interlibrary loan services, with librarians ready to help locate copies. This session features The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells, the story of Griffin, a scientist who becomes invisible and descends into madness. The group will also build the upcoming reading list, so please bring suggestions to put to a vote.
