    Suzy Bogguss

Levoy Theatre, 130 N High St, Millville · verified Sep 6
    See details

Suzy Bogguss takes the spotlight with a career-spanning performance rooted in the creative surge of 1990s country, when she sold 4 million records and delivered radio favorites such as Outbound Plane, Someday Soon, Letting Go, Drive South, and Hey Cinderella. Her artistry reaches far beyond one lane, reflecting collaborations and explorations across styles. She paused her country ascent to record a duet album with Chet Atkins, ventured into modern swing with Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel in 2003, and released an album of original songs in 2007 that climbed to number 4 on the jazz charts. Her folk sensibilities shine through appearances on public radio’s A Prairie Home Companion, a Grammy earned for contributions to Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster, and her 2011 American Folk Songbook album and book project. In 2014 she offered Lucky, reimagining songs by Merle Haggard through her clear, expressive voice from a female perspective. Her most recent collection, Prayin’ For Sunshine, is an Americana showcase composed entirely of her own songs. She continues to tour worldwide on her own, with Terri Clark and Pam Tillis as Chicks With Hits, and with Kathy Mattea on the Together At Last tour. Expect an evening shaped by adventurous musicianship, heartfelt storytelling, and songs that bridge country, folk, swing, and jazz influences.

THE LAST WALTZ Celebration featuring The THE BAND Band & Special Guests

Levoy Theatre, 130 N High St, Millville · verified Sep 6
    See details

At The Levoy Theatre, The THE BAND Band joins special guests for a concert honoring the 50th anniversary of The Last Waltz. The program reflects on The Band’s Thanksgiving farewell at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, where they shared the stage with artists including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Neil Young, and Ronnie Hawkins, later chronicled in Martin Scorsese’s film The Last Waltz. Co-founder Gary Solomon was in the audience for that historic night and lends that perspective to this tribute. The performance opens with favorites from The Band, followed by a rotating lineup interpreting songs associated with the original guest stars, and features fiddler Larry Packer, who performed with The Band at The Last Waltz. The Vaudeville Bar will be open and serving. Premium seating is available, and tickets are on sale.
