    Trick Dog Classes

281 Roycefield Rd, Hillsborough · verified Aug 30
    See details

Trainer and behaviorist Jeannette Rybak leads a new Trick Dog class that turns play into purposeful learning for dogs and their handlers. Teams begin with accessible skills like high five, weaving through legs, and backing up, then progress to more advanced behaviors such as play dead, crawl, spin, and moving through a tunnel. The curriculum emphasizes mental stimulation, confidence building, and a stronger bond between dog and human. Because each trick can be adjusted to suit individual abilities, the class is a comfortable fit for seniors, dogs with physical limitations, and pups who are shy or nervous. Enrollment is limited to six dogs per session. Pricing is $200 per month for four classes, or $35 per class on a pay-as-you-go basis. When a month includes five weekly sessions, participants may choose any four to attend. Please bring a standard non-retractable leash and some favorite treats for training.

Open Studio with Dennis RedMoon Darkeem

6 Kirkpatrick St, New Brunswick · verified Aug 30
    See details

An open studio invites a closer look at the creative practice of Dennis RedMoon Darkeem, an Afro-Indigenous artist working across multiple disciplines. Born in New York City and based in the Bronx, he founded RedMoon Arts Movement Inc., a community-rooted platform that brings together environmental learning, public art, and cultural healing. The program offers insight into sculpture, installations, photography, film, collage, large-scale murals, and community-engaged art that trace relationships among land and water, ancestral remembrance, transformation, and urban ecologies. His approach often includes collaboration with local communities through workshops, guided walks, youth initiatives, and participatory works that foreground Black and Indigenous histories. His portfolio spans field documentation of environments, monumental murals, sculptural pieces made from reclaimed and natural materials, and experimental films such as Sacred Grounds. Shaped by exhibitions in galleries and public spaces throughout New York and beyond, and by residencies centered on land-based research and cultural preservation, his work uses art, education, and storytelling to rethink public space as a place for healing, reflection, and shared change.
