Participants set off on playful quests inspired by games like Dungeons & Dragons, using simplified rules designed for children. After the adventure, they transform favorite moments into hands-on artwork, crafting character portraits, creature designs, maps, magical items, and more. Along the way, activities encourage imagination, teamwork and communication, problem-solving, artistic expression, and the joy of pretend play and storytelling. This experience suits kids who love fantasy, drawing and crafting, or cooperative adventures with friends. No prior role-playing experience is needed, only curiosity and a big imagination.

Kidsbridge offers a summer camp centered on building leadership skills through creative and active experiences. With three weeks to choose from, campers take part in art, games, music, and movement in a welcoming environment designed for growth and fun. Enrollment is open. This program is supported in part by a 2026 grant from the Mercer County Department of Human Services.

Born in the late 1990s and early 2000s, emo mixed punk’s urgency with candid, heartfelt lyrics, and artists like Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Panic! At The Disco helped shape its signature sound. At School of Rock Princeton, campers dive into emo favorites in an encouraging, high energy environment. The program runs Monday through Friday with focused learning and rehearsals, concluding with a live performance for family and friends at the end of the week.

This week-long camp at School of Rock Princeton introduces children ages 6 to 7 to the basics of making music. Participants try out rhythm instruments, practice easy songs, and take part in music games in a friendly, supportive setting. Activities build core skills like listening for pitch and rhythm, understanding how songs are structured, recognizing common rhythm patterns, and playing together as an ensemble. Kids also get to know the primary instruments of rock and begin laying a foundation in music theory and overall music appreciation.

Dive into three-dimensional art in a hands-on camp centered on clay and other sculptural materials. Participants shape creations with clay as well as paper mache, plaster, cardboard, and more, bringing animals, favorite foods, and other ideas to life. Example projects include an animal or creature sculpture, a small planter or vase, a mug or bowl, a tray or plate, and a food-inspired piece. Instruction covers clay handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, slab construction, and coil work. Only students who are 10 or older may try the pottery wheel, since using the machine can be challenging and requires adequate height and upper body strength. All clay work remains in the studio to dry, then is bisque fired and glaze fired in the kilns. Watch for an email from the booking platform Sawyer Tools or HiSawyer when pieces are ready for pickup, usually within about three weeks of the camp. Students are encouraged to wear clothes that can get messy.

Head to the Children’s Room on Monday evenings for a fun and unique craft session led by Ms. Damaris. Each week features a brand-new project, so there is always something different to make.

Spend part of your summer getting creative for free at the museum. The Imagination Studio hosts drop-in craft activities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout July and August, with a different project available each day.

Celebrated for a soulful voice and praised by outlets such as DownBeat, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Metro Philadelphia, Frederick has appeared with TEDx and NPR and has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra. His credits include The Barnes Foundation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, extended residencies in upscale restaurants, and club appearances at Con Alma in Pittsburgh, Minton's in Harlem, South Jazz Club, and Chris' Jazz Cafe. He tours as narrator and vocalist with Ruth Naomi Floyd’s Frederick Douglass Jazz Works, and collaborates as pianist, composer, and vocalist with poet laureate Yolanda Wisher and the Afroeaters. Beyond the stage he contributes scoring and voiceover for film and commercial projects. His album Treasures was named Track of the Week by JazzFM UK. Admission is free.

Blank Space Storytelling and Sandy LaPolla lead a high energy, interactive evening where creativity takes center stage. Through a blend of spoken storytelling games and guided writing prompts, participants build confidence, spark imagination, and turn ideas into stories. Whether someone loves to write, talk, perform, or simply try something new, the session welcomes every approach. The atmosphere is low pressure and beginner friendly, with plenty of chances to laugh, create, and connect with fellow creative minds. Geared toward tweens and teens who enjoy stories, self expression, and a touch of creative adventure.

Mercer Has Talent is a community variety show packed with performances from talented folks around Mercer County. It features the house band, Ernie White and Tommy Reock, and includes acts such as the Mercer Dance Ensemble. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show starting at 7:30 PM, and the event runs through 9:30 PM. Please note there is no alcohol allowed on campus.

In Discovery Den, children ages 2 to 8 and their caregivers can enjoy a storytime followed by a hands-on craft to take home. After the session, families may explore the Museum galleries on their own using the Small Explorers gallery cards.
