These 90-minute group classes are part of a comprehensive, referral-based outpatient Diabetes Self-Management Education and Training program that helps participants build knowledge and confidence for effective diabetes care. Delivered over a four-week series, the instruction is led by a certified diabetes care and education specialist with support from nurses, dietitians, and other health care providers. The first class covers daily management, how diabetes affects the body, long-term complications, and oral and GLP-1 medications. The second focuses on healthy eating, lifestyle choices, and healthy coping. The third addresses monitoring, acute complications, insulin medication, distress, and support. This supportive group uses cognitive behavioral strategies to help caregivers manage stress and the daily demands of caregiving while building coping tools and self efficacy. The group is led by Dr. Kristina McGuire, a clinical psychologist with Capital Health Behavioral Health Specialists, and includes instruction in mindfulness along with acceptance and commitment skills. A new BNI chapter is taking shape in Beachwood, offering business owners and professionals the opportunity to become founding members and help shape the group from the outset. The gathering is fully in person and open to visitors at no cost to explore how the model works. The focus is referral-driven growth through a give-first approach, creating trusted relationships that lead to quality recommendations and consistent business momentum week after week. Founding members secure an early seat in the local network and play a role in setting its culture and direction. The program includes a guarantee that, when the system is followed, anyone who does not earn back the initial investment receives the second year at no charge.

Kids Arty Pizza Night invites children to paint a fall scene in a family-friendly setting. An experienced art instructor will guide participants in starting and completing an acrylic painting on canvas or another craft, and each participant will be offered up to two slices of pizza and one drink. Adults may register to create alongside their child, or, if the child is 7 or older, drop-off is welcome for an adults-only evening. No experience is necessary.

The APOAANJ and Friends for Hope team is participating in the Mercer County walk to help stop suicide at Hamilton Veterans Park as part of the AFSP Walk. Their involvement highlights support for suicide prevention through a shared, purposeful walk.
