Experience the pottery wheel during a fast, adult-focused session at The Pottery Shop in Las Vegas. This beginner-friendly class is for ages 16 and up and includes a brief instructor demonstration followed by your own turn at the wheel, with an emphasis on shaping a small bowl. Each participant has a dedicated wheel for about 30 minutes. The cost is $29 per person and includes one pound of clay plus the firing of one piece, with a $10 nonrefundable deposit required to reserve and the balance paid at the studio. Space is limited to six people per session, so advance reservations are needed. Ceramics can be unpredictable and pieces may crack during drying and firing, and finished work typically shrinks around 15 percent. If your piece makes it through, staff will apply your selected glaze and complete the final firing, with pickup in approximately four weeks. If you do not create a piece suitable for firing, you may select a finished item as a keepsake. If time allows, additional clay is available for $5 per pound and extra pieces for glazing and firing can be added for $15 each. The studio is cashless and accepts major credit cards and Apple Pay. Policies include no cancellations or rescheduling within 48 hours and no credits or refunds for no-shows. Everyone in the wheel area must be registered and spectators are not permitted. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get messy, avoid skirts, dresses, or kilts, remove loose jewelry and rings, and tie back long hair. Fingernails may get dirty or break. Note the new location in Town Square on the north side of the mall between Paradise Card Breaks and IKON Homes.

The workshop is held in the Adult Lounge. Admission is $19.50, and a $25 supply fee is due to the instructor at the start of the session. Outside food and beverages are welcome.
