Great South Bay Music FestivalStories Before Words - Middle Country Library
Across many ancient cultures, artists used colors from the earth to paint on stone, recording animals, travels, and scenes of daily life. Pigments such as iron oxide, yellow ochre, and charcoal were crushed, combined with binders, and applied to rock, and archaeologists still study places like Lascaux where images created thousands of years ago shed light on early communities. Stories Before Words invites teens in grades 6 to 12 to explore this legacy in a hands-on workshop at the Middle Country Library Selden Teen Resource Center. Participants will work with natural pigments, grind earth materials, try both dry and wet techniques, and create a personal visual story on a piece of natural stone. The session also looks at how archaeologists interpret ancient imagery and how shape, movement, and color communicate meaning across generations. Each attendee will take home a hand-painted stone. This program supports the library’s Summer Reading theme, Unearth A Story, by encouraging a look into the deep human past and a form of storytelling that has lasted for thousands of years. Reserved for Middle Country Library cardholders. Official registration coming soon.

Patchogue LIRR StationHistoric Cemetery Tour
Patchogue Lioness Lions and Friends of Lakeview Cemeteries present a guided tour through the historic Lakeview Cemeteries in Patchogue Village. Participants will visit graves of Revolutionary War era veterans, Patriots, and others of notable significance while hearing how volunteers are documenting, restoring, and cleaning hundreds of long-neglected stones to improve access at a site that was once heavily overgrown. The terrain is mostly flat but can be uneven, so comfortable shoes and long pants are recommended. There is no fee to attend, and donations are welcomed to support ongoing preservation work. Space is limited, and the organizers request the number of attendees along with a name and phone number when reserving. Collectively known as Lakeview and dating to the 1700s, the property encompasses five cemeteries. Lakeview and Rice are owned by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, while the western area referred to as Waverly includes the Gerard, Old Episcopal, and Union Cemeteries, which are legally abandoned and maintained by the Town of Brookhaven in partnership with Friends of Lakeview Cemeteries.

Triangle Park: Horseblock Road & Woodycrest Drive, Farmingville, NY 11738Free Lecture: 'BECOMING SOVEREIGN'-Holtsville, NY
A free lecture with Marconics Master Teacher Robin Landau at Holiday Inn Long Island - ISLIP Airport in Holtsville explores ways to move beyond fear and remember a stellar origin. The talk examines what it describes as reversal currents that shape thoughts, beliefs, and the lightbody, and considers how density, duality, and separation have influenced human experience while obscuring memory and a sense of connection with all that is. Robin presents a pathway to becoming sovereign that focuses on releasing fear and separation, progressively integrating higher self identities to restore stellar memory, and returning to a multidimensional ascension trajectory often linked to the Fall of Man. The program discusses karmic patterning in the seven chakra system and how this has kept many people locked into Earth’s reality matrix rather than advancing into higher dimensional time, encouraging a conscious choice at a pivotal moment of change. The session also introduces Marconics Ascension Energy, described as a full-spectrum approach that works with the ascending 5D body template to facilitate the shedding of karmic debris and activate new DNA, with the aim of raising vibration and deepening connection to Source or Spirit. Presented within the Empowered Path Expo, admission to the expo is free and the lecture is free for attendees, and sample sessions of Marconics Ascension Energy will be available at the booth throughout the weekend.
Holiday Inn Long Island- ISLIP AirportLos Lonely Boys at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts with Lisa Morales
Brothers Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza take the stage with a sound shaped by family and by their West Texas roots. Rising from San Angelo, they forged a blues-steeped Texican rock and roll style that drew early support when Willie Nelson’s nephew heard their demo, leading to a Farm Aid appearance and sessions at Willie’s studio. Their self-titled 2003 album, later picked up by Epic, featured the No. 1 single Heaven, a Grammy winner that stayed on the Billboard Top 200 for 76 weeks and sold over two million copies. Along the way they have collaborated with Carlos Santana and Willie Nelson, performed at storied venues, and supported causes around the world. Their path, documented in Cottonfields and Crossroads, includes perseverance after Henry’s serious onstage injury in 2013, a family-focused pause in 2019, and a revitalized return to touring in 2022 that included opening for The Who. With the 2024 BMG release Resurrection, they fold soul and roots textures into their trademark sound, earning strong notices and fueling energetic live sets. More than twenty years after their debut, they continue to write, record, and perform with conviction, showing that the story is still unfolding.

Yächtley Crëw brings its smooth sailing sound to Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. This seven piece band from Southern California broke through in 2017 with a run of sold out shows, fueling a coast to coast wave of Yacht Rock, the mellow soft rock and radio favorites from the late 70s and early 80s that inspire fans to dress the part and sing along. Their momentum caught the attention of Jimmy Buffett, who signed them to his Mailboat label before a later deal with Earache and Universal. Their 2023 EP, Seas The Day, features crowd pleasing selections like Lido Shuffle, How Long, Steal Away, How Deep Is Your Love, and Ride Like the Wind, along with their original Sex On The Beach, whose video includes a cameo by Mario Lopez. The band’s profile includes HBO’s Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary, Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, the syndicated Las Vegas Countdown to 2023 on KLAS and KTLA, national features on Fox News, and a landmark live session for SiriusXM’s Yacht Rock Radio 311 as the first Yacht Rock band to perform in the studio. They have also held a four year residency at The Palms in Las Vegas and supported charitable events such as the Mario Lopez Golf Classic benefiting Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
