Downtown Patchogue celebrates the 59th Italian Feast of Saint Liberata, honoring Linda Locantore. The day begins with a traditional procession that sets off in front of the Suffolk County District Court, followed by an official ceremony at the Four Corners. Festivities continue with the Lou Giordano Classic and Italian Car Show, along with the annual bocce ball tournament on the lawn by the Sixth District Court and the Teen Center at the Patchogue-Medford Carnegie Library. Families can enjoy face painting, team activities, a magician, a balloon artist and more. Entertainment is planned throughout the feast, with details to be announced. Participating restaurants will offer tastings during the ninth annual Vino in the Village wine walk, and a zeppole-eating contest adds extra excitement. All money pinned to the statue of Saint Liberata will be donated to St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church.

The Sayville distillery has a new tasting room serving small batch spirits and cocktails. Long Island Salted Spirits uses real Long Island sea salt in every bottle to heighten flavor, similar to how a chef seasons a dish. The aim is to bring the essence of Long Island to every cocktail.

A Bayport-Blue Point tradition continues with the annual Kerry Lawler Scholarship Fundraiser at Cavanaugh's, held after the high school homecoming game. The gathering honors Coach Kerry Lawler, supports the team, and brings together old and new friends. The Phantoms face Babylon in the homecoming matchup. Proceeds benefit a scholarship awarded each year to a graduating senior on the Bayport-Blue Point football team. Admission is $10 per person, and 50/50 raffle tickets are available at Cavanaugh's.
