Sessions continue in light rain and are canceled in the event of storms or heavy rain, and themes may change based on weather, materials, and staff availability. This program is supported by the Tompkins County Tourism Program and the Legacy Foundation.

AIM Independent Living Center offers a free Open Resource Center. Drop-in visitors can use laptops and internet and meet with advocates who help with housing searches, benefit applications and connections to services. Guidance is available for obtaining identification, Social Security cards and birth certificates, though associated fees are not covered. In conjunction with the exhibit Fighting for Our Nation, this lunchtime talk explores Elmira’s contributions to the Civil War through the perspectives of volunteers associated with Elmira’s Civil War Prison Camp. Speakers will discuss military recruiting, participation, and the many ways civilians supported the war effort on the home front. The program is free and will take place at CCHS. Attendees may bring their own lunch, and light refreshments will be available.

Schuyler County libraries mark the end of the Summer Learning Program with an afternoon celebration at the Montour Falls Farmers Market. The event features outdoor games and activities, plus live music by Doc Possum. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
