Fiber artists of any medium meet for the Knit and Crochet Social Group at the Amsterdam Free Library. Attendees can bring a work in progress, share finished items, and exchange tips, tricks, and ideas with fellow makers. This is a relaxed social gathering rather than a teaching program, created for knitters, crocheters, and other stitchers to work on their projects together. No registration is needed.

Community garden work hours focus on hands-on care and preparation of the growing space. Current projects include weed whacking, creating new beds for planting, watering as needed, weeding and thinning existing crops, and spreading wood chips as they arrive. There is also a small early harvest of asparagus ready this year. Sessions continue in cloudy or drizzly weather, but they are canceled if rain becomes steady. Additional garden hours will be announced, and organizers are gathering input from gardeners to help select the most popular days and times.

Compete to be the top pilot at Plunder Gaming in a one-on-one standard tournament with a $5 entry fee. Matches are best of one and decided by a single game, with 30 minutes per round plus 5 minutes of extra time for additional turns. All entrants receive a promo, and booster pack prizes go to the top half of the field. The champion earns a special pack that includes one randomly selected card type from eight alt-art designs. Every participant also receives a foil pack at the end, each containing one of eight card types at random. One additional pack will be awarded at random to a participant. A free screening of 300 presents the 2006 historical fantasy action film adapted from Frank Miller’s graphic novel. It tells a dramatized account of the Battle of Thermopylae in the Greco-Persian Wars, following a Spartan king and 300 warriors as they face a vastly larger Persian army. Directed by Zack Snyder and released by Warner Bros., the film runs 117 minutes and is rated R, with a cast that includes Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, David Wenham, Rodrigo Santoro, and Andrew Pleavin. Concessions at The Glove will be open with soft drinks, candy, salty snacks, coffee, tea, beer, wine, hard cider, and freshly popped popcorn.

Registration is open for a golf tournament fundraiser hosted by the FMCC Raiders men’s basketball coaching staff. This second annual event returns to Fox Run Golf Club in Johnstown, NY. Teams will compete in a four person scramble with a shotgun start. Opportunities to register, sponsor, and support are available.

The Historic Hotel Broadalbin hosts a family-friendly car show celebrating hot rods, muscle cars, classics, trucks, imports, and modern performance vehicles. Vehicles of any year, make, or model are welcome, and both cars and trucks can participate. Registration is $20 and includes a dash plaque while supplies last. The day features a 50/50 drawing and ample parking for participants and spectators. Awards are a major highlight, with twenty-five trophies available and fifteen People’s Choice recognitions selected by attendees. Special categories include Best in Show, Best Paint, Best Truck, Best Import, Best Engine, Best Vintage Car pre-1949, Best Classic Car 1950 to 1960, Best Muscle Car 1960 to 1973, Best Modern Muscle Car 1974 to 1999, and Best Modern Vehicle 2000 to 2026. All proceeds benefit the Fulton County K-9 Unit.

Plunder Gaming hosts a Commander League where players are seated in pods matched by deck strength. A $5 entry covers participation and includes a raffle ticket for an end-of-month drawing, with the winner choosing from a selection of sealed booster boxes. If a deck’s power level is uncertain, staff can evaluate it and assign a rating. Each pod winner earns another raffle entry and can choose either 100 Loyalty Points or a booster pack. After the first set of pods, additional rounds may be offered for those who want more games, and players are welcome to jump into any round that fits their schedule.

Browse vendors with oddities, original artwork, vintage finds, and horror-themed pieces, then enjoy food trucks, tattoo artists, close-up magic, psychic readings, live music, and more.

Players face off in a competitive showdown to determine the champion. Entry is $5. Matches are best of three in a Swiss format, and the event uses the One Battle format with decks drawn from a favorite show. Every participant receives a promo, with special promos for the top 4. Celebrating more than three decades of delighting the community, the Not Just for Kids Storytelling series continues with a story performance by Kent Busman. This program offers a mix of humor, heart, and surprising turns and is part of a three event lineup. More details will be announced.
