Often regarded as the first fully realized musical drama, the piece recounts the Orpheus myth through Alessandro Striggio’s libretto. The narrative follows Orfeo as he uses the power of song to appeal to Plutone for Euridice’s return from the Underworld. A chorus of Nymphs and Shepherds helps shape the unfolding story.

New York Steppers hosts an upbeat evening at Aloft Harlem filled with steppin and line dancing set to R&B and soul. This edition includes a celebration for Wanda Pellot’s birthday with a taste of Puerto Rico. Everyone is welcome, from first-timers and non-dancers to seasoned participants, and relaxed attire is encouraged.
