At School House Wellness Center, experience a full immersion gong meditation sound bath guided by percussionist Liz Holland, M.M. Participants are surrounded by sound waves from a variety of gongs, creating a meditative journey supported by the resonant frequencies of these ancient instruments. Capacity will be limited, so reservations are encouraged. This practice draws on traditions from ancient cultures and Kundalini yoga, and is often used by sound healing practitioners. Gongs have served as spiritual tools since at least 4000 B.C., producing vibrations across a spectrum of frequencies. Scientific research has explored the therapeutic use of sound to support overall well-being. The session is led by Liz Holland, a lifelong percussionist and practitioner of Ancient Alloys. She holds a Master of Music in Percussion Performance with a focus on exploratory techniques for new music, has been featured in Drum! and Modern Drummer, has toured and performed nationwide, is a Buffalo, New York native, and is now based in Seattle, Washington.
