Canandaigua · Kershaw Park, 155 Lakeshore Dr

The annual LIGHT[the]HILL luminaria celebration transforms Kershaw Park in Canandaigua with candles glowing inside personalized bags, each one dedicated in memory or in honor of a loved one. Last year, nearly 2,500 luminarias illuminated the park, creating a quiet atmosphere of remembrance and hope. Individual luminarias are available for purchase at $12, with discounted bundles of 12 or 24, and Light Hill volunteers will create, personalize, place, and light each dedication. Advance orders are due by a specified deadline, and onsite purchases are available if that window is missed. The event aligns with National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and community support through spreading the word or purchasing luminarias helps light the way for a mission of caring for others at a profound time in life. Volunteers are needed for setup and takedown, including organizing names, pulling carts, placing luminarias, lighting candles, and reorganizing materials afterward.
