This Family Saturday art-making program promotes creative collaboration across generations through viewing art, conversation, and a hands-on project. It is free and open to the public, with activities designed for children ages 5 and up attending with their adult companions. Registration is not required, and supplies are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tours are offered weekly by Tang Guides, many of whom are Skidmore College students serving as trained gallery ambassadors and tour leaders. Through this program, they become familiar with the Tang and the museum field, build tour-giving skills, and gain real-world experience engaging with visitors.

An open studio welcomes participants of all ages to stop in and make art at their own pace. Choose to focus on your own piece or join the day’s featured project, which changes each week to inspire learning a new craft and to encourage sharing personal artwork. The atmosphere emphasizes creative expression and collaboration with the community, rather than aiming for a perfect final product.
