McGarry is a veteran performer from Cape Cod with decades of work across theater, film, television, and radio. He founded The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company in 2012 and served as Producing Artistic Director through 2016, leading multiple touring productions. He trained at the National Shakespeare Conservatory and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.

Seven Wonders returns to Middle Ages Brewing Company in Syracuse with a tribute to the music of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. Learn to use how-to-draw books in a drawing club for kids ages 7 to 12. Each meeting highlights a different book. The group will start by choosing one subject from the book to learn together, then participants can select additional projects from the same book to draw on their own. No prior drawing experience is needed, just an interest in drawing.

Fireside Collective brings its adventurous live show to Middle Ages Music Hall in Syracuse. Grounded in bluegrass and folk, the band stretches into rock and roll, funk, open-ended improvisation, and flavors of world music. Drawing on the spirit of groups like the Grateful Dead, their concerts unfold with rotating setlists, long-form jams, and surprising twists from start to finish. This performance is presented by Visions FCU.

At May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society in Syracuse, Maggie’s Wake shares a fresh take on timeless roots music. The Canadian, female-fronted ensemble blends original songwriting grounded in traditional folk and classic country with vibrant Celtic textures, creating a sound that feels both familiar and newly minted. Fronted by award-winning multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Tara Dunphy on lead vocals, tin whistle, flute, and fiddle, alongside internationally recognized fiddler and harmony vocalist Lindsay Schindler, the group also features Andrew Kosty on upright and electric bass and Ken Palmer on acoustic and electric guitar, with frequent contributions from Dean Harrison on piano and accordion and Stephan Szczesniak on percussion. They have filled theaters and concert halls, and their self-titled debut, released worldwide in March 2024, earned strong critical attention. Recent milestones include Official Showcase performances at the 2024 Folk Alliance and North Eastern Regional Folk Alliance conferences, as well as a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Awards nomination for Best New or Emerging Artist. Their performances celebrate heritage while inviting audiences into an uplifting and original musical experience. A pre-concert Insiders' Experience offers a look behind the scenes, including a conversation with a Syracuse Orchestra musician about preparation and performing, with time for questions. Guests can mingle over drinks and small bites, then head straight to reserved premium seats when the performance begins, and refreshments may be carried into the hall. Admission to the reception, premium seating, and the concert is bundled for $60. The reception frequently reaches capacity.

The 34th session of Syracuse Actors Studio features the 3rd annual SASMAS at The Palace Theatre in Eastwood, Syracuse. After Dark Presents brings the Steven Page Trio to The Palace Theatre in Syracuse for a holiday-focused concert built around Steven’s upcoming album, Steven’s Greetings. The performance weaves together new original songs, seasonal selections he wrote during his Barenaked Ladies years, and timeless holiday standards, all led by his unmistakable voice. Alongside the festive material, the show also features well-known favorites spanning nearly forty years of his career. This event is 16 and over with ID, and guests younger than 16 may attend with a parent or legal guardian.

Learn stained glass basics while creating a cardinal using the traditional copper foil, also called the Tiffany, method. Working from a pre-cut glass kit, participants practice foiling, burnishing, and soldering, with instruction on safe tool use, neat seam work, and how flux with solder forms strong joins. The session focuses on technique and craftsmanship from start to finish, resulting in a completed stained-glass cardinal that includes a hanging chain. Taught by Everson Teaching Artist Ashe Martin. Price is $45 for non-members and $36 for members.

World Ballet Company brings The Nutcracker to The Oncenter in Syracuse, accompanied by a live orchestra. The production features 40 accomplished dancers, more than 150 hand sewn costumes, and handcrafted sets that create a festive experience for audiences of all ages. Follow Marie on Christmas Eve as her Nutcracker comes to life and guides her through a dream filled with swirling snow, a clash with mice, and a visit to the shimmering Kingdom of Sweets. The performance runs about 1 hour and 40 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission, and is recommended for ages 2 and up. Group pricing is available for parties of 10 or more. Based in Los Angeles and led by Sasha Gorskaya and Gulya Hartwick, World Ballet Company tours beloved classics in cities across the country with a company of renowned dancers representing over ten countries.
