John Brown’s Body returns to Middle Ages Music Hall after spending a few years away from touring and recording, taking the stage with a refreshed lineup of longtime players that includes founding members Kevin Kinsella, Tommy Benedetti, and Lee Hamilton. Marking 30 years of original roots reggae, the group that helped define the American reggae sound brings a signature blend of roots and dub with potent songwriting, deep grooves, and brass-powered energy. Keller Williams brings his inventive solo looping performance to Middle Ages Music Hall, crafting songs on the spot with no prerecorded tracks. The set features playful lyrics, agile guitar work, and a free ranging blend of folk, funk, rock, bluegrass, and dance friendly electronica, a style he refers to as acoustic dance music. Because each piece is built live, every show offers a one of a kind experience.

Pokefest Syracuse brings a trading card game collectibles expo to the NYS Fairgrounds inside the Science & Industry Building. Promoted as the area’s largest TCG gathering, it features as many as 120 TCG vendors and up to 100 tables stocked with singles, graded cards, sealed packs, games, plush, toys, handmade items, and more. Early entry is $20, and general admission is $5. Tickets are available for purchase at the door on the day of the event.

Create a festive mosaic pumpkin in a hands-on workshop priced at $45 for non-members and $36 for members. Using vibrant vitreous glass tile, participants practice traditional mosaic methods, including cutting, arranging, and adhering pieces, to craft either a classic pumpkin or a playful jack-o'-lantern. Everyone completes a 10-inch mosaic ready to display. Instruction covers core techniques, safe use of tools to cut and shape glass, principles of composition, spacing and flow, along with adhesive application and basic finishing, all culminating in a finished pumpkin or jack-o'-lantern design. The workshop is led by Everson Teaching Artist Ashe Martin.

The 32nd session of Syracuse Actors Studio takes place at The Palace Theatre and centers on creating a film about the filmmaking process. This monthly gathering is free to attend and offers actors a collaborative space to learn from one another and practice their craft. Performers at any level of experience are encouraged, and industry collaborators such as filmmakers, writers, playwrights, producers, casting professionals, and observers are welcome.
