At the NY State Fair, the Bigfoot specimen known as DACK returns for a free exhibition featuring the body along with newly unveiled artifacts. According to the organizers, more than 60,000 people viewed the body last year, and they say they will be on site throughout to meet attendees face to face, show the body, explain the discovery and listen to visitors’ Bigfoot stories. The organizers state that DNA testing at the Cornell Veterinarian Bio DNA Lab identified the specimen as 58.5 percent Neanderthal and 41.5 percent human, that the report was peer reviewed by a team of Japanese scientists who then produced a documentary, and that the body has been verified by the Six Nation Indian Tribes of New York, including the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca and Tuscarora. They describe themselves as the only group with verified remains and the only ones providing public access to the body, emphasizing hands-on visitor involvement.

Pokefest Syracuse brings a trading card game collectibles expo to the NYS Fairgrounds inside the Science & Industry Building. The 32nd session of Syracuse Actors Studio takes place at The Palace Theatre and centers on creating a film about the filmmaking process. This monthly gathering is free to attend and offers actors a collaborative space to learn from one another and practice their craft. Performers at any level of experience are encouraged, and industry collaborators such as filmmakers, writers, playwrights, producers, casting professionals, and observers are welcome.
