Vocalist and songwriter Keeley Mitchell, a New Yorker heard as both lead and backing singer on projects with Lenny White, Bobby Militello and Bryan Popin, brings a resume that includes repeat Jazz Jam All-Star honors at Flushing Town Hall, a recent Neon Jazz interview and performances across the tri-state area with ensembles such as the Kevin Blancq Big Band at Swing 46, the Rockland Community College Contemporary Ensemble and The Burr Johnson Band. Her latest recording, Martha’s Vineyard Keeley, is available on major streaming platforms. Guitarist Burr Johnson adds fire and range with a style that moves easily through jazz, rock and blues. He toured nationally with organ great Jack McDuff and appeared with him on radio broadcasts, and his credits include performances with Ron Carter, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Spyro Gyra, John Abercrombie, Rick Derringer and Larry Coryell. The Burr Johnson Band has made multiple appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival and toured extensively in the United States and Europe. Johnson also performed with B.B. King at Montreux before headlining the Manchester Jazz Festival. Bassist, composer and arranger Charlie Dougherty brings a background that spans top New York jazz rooms and North American premieres of contemporary classical works. His music has been performed internationally, and he appeared on two nationally syndicated television specials as the conductor and musical director for PJ Rasmussen and the Boardwalk Jazz Band. He has served as assistant director of the William Paterson University Summer Jazz Camp and is currently a high school orchestra director. Rounding out the band, drummer and composer Ray LeVier channels a powerful personal journey into a prolific career. After recovering from a severe childhood accident, he built a body of work that includes collaborations with Paul Shaffer, Will Lee, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker and John Abercrombie. His album Ray’s Way reached the jazz charts’ top twenty, and he has been featured in the documentary Humanity Stoked, on the cover of Drumhead magazine and in Modern Drummer’s Up and Coming. He also composes extensively for television, contributing thousands of tracks to networks such as TLC, The History Channel and ESPN, and is the author of Drumming In Flow, which explores breathwork for mindfulness and balance.
