Mortuary Manor Public Investigation & Flashlight Tour

Mortuary Manor , 2907 Lagrange St., Toledo
    See details

Eerie Excursions presents a public paranormal investigation at Mortuary Manor in Toledo, a former funeral home where decades of emotion, history, and unexplained activity are said to linger. Once known as the Urbanski Funeral Home, the building remains much as it was, with viewing rooms, preparation areas, and quiet corridors that investigators now explore after dark. Reports from previous visits include shadows that drift along the walls, abrupt temperature shifts, footsteps in empty hallways, and the unsettling sensation of being watched. As a relatively new site for the paranormal community, it has seen limited documentation, which makes this an uncommon chance to examine the location. Options include a guided flashlight tour focused on the building’s past and its reported phenomena, a 4 hour public investigation that begins with a brief introduction and walkthrough followed by time to roam the building, and an 8 hour overnight investigation for extended exploration, limited to 20 participants for a quieter, more immersive experience. The experience is designed for both newcomers and seasoned investigators. No prior experience is required, the team explains techniques and equipment at the outset, and experienced attendees may bring their own gear. Recognized as one of Ohio’s newest haunted investigation sites, early offerings are expected to fill quickly. Discover what unfolds when the halls fall silent.

    Junior Wildlife Enrichment Adventure

    Nature’s Nursery , 7541 Dutch Rd, Waterville · verified Oct 13
    See details

A private, behind-the-scenes adventure at Nature’s Nursery invites young wildlife enthusiasts ages 6 to 12 to explore animal care through hands-on enrichment. Over two hours, one child works one-on-one with a Wildlife Enrichment Expert to plan, build, and place enrichment items in real animal habitats, watch how the animals respond, and learn species facts and personal stories about the organization’s wildlife ambassadors. The experience highlights how enrichment supports animal well-being, and each participant receives a Junior Wildlife Enrichment Certificate at the end. Sessions take place on the Davey Moore Education Center side of the building. This program is designed for independent participants, so parents and siblings do not accompany the child, and participants should be comfortable attending on their own. Cost is $175. Photos may be taken during the class, and families can let a staff member or volunteer know beforehand if they prefer not to be photographed. The facility can be loud at times as some animals get excited around visitors. Natural feeding may be observed, including insects, fish, quail, and frozen-thawed rodents, and peanuts are also used on site. If weather restrictions from the Lucas County sheriff lead to a cancellation, the class will be rescheduled and details will be emailed by the Education Director. Nature’s Nursery is a 501c3 nonprofit that relies on monetary and in-kind donations for funding.

Couch present the national tour of Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol, a musical featuring songs by eleven-time GRAMMY winner Dolly Parton with a book by David H. Bell and adaptation contributions from Bell, Curt Wollan, and Paul T. Couch. Set in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee during the 1930s, the tale reimagines Ebenezer Scrooge as the head of a mining company town whose fixation on profit keeps him from the spirit of the season. As a Christmas Eve snowstorm nears, his late business partner and three ghosts appear, urging him to look at life differently and recognize that love is the greatest gift. Beloved characters from Dickens meet Parton’s signature songwriting for a holiday musical meant to be enjoyed with loved ones.
