The program combines candid discussion with humor to create a welcoming, practical learning experience. A cozy three-day crafting retreat invites participants to bring their own projects and enjoy open creative time. Expect daily door prizes, a fun make-and-take project, and a grand prize drawing at the end. In honor of Adolescent Cancer Awareness Month, if the retreat sells out, 10% of registration fees will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This annual weekend at Fruitdale Farm celebrates the close of summer and the shared effort that brings the land to life. Attendees can camp for the full experience and enjoy outdoor activities like yard games, pond floats, property tours and collaborative painting, along with communal meals, live music, aerial arts, morning yoga, campfire jams and a playful late-night camp crawl through the grounds. Friday brings a welcoming potluck and performances by The Devil Doves and Lovestreet Daydream, paired with aerial artistry from Cirque des Silhouettes, then a fireside jam and the camp crawl. Saturday features yoga with Hannah, more outdoor fun and art-making, a barter blanket where items can be sold, traded or gifted, a food truck serving birria tacos and Mexican street corn with a vegetarian option, and sets from Drawknife, The Mighty Troubadours and Knot Brothers with additional aerial performances by Cirque des Silhouettes. The night caps with a campfire jam that includes a special unplugged set by Jenny & The Streetwalkers. Sunday offers another yoga session with Hannah and the option to relax at Paint Creek Lake before heading out. Participants are welcome to bring instruments, their voices and yoga mats to take part in the shared activities. Ticket pricing is flexible with a minimum donation of $20 per person, and camping is included. Proceeds help cover artist costs, and advance tickets are available with refunds if the event is canceled. The gathering is suitable for families and pets, and caregivers are responsible for supervising children and animals. Please be mindful of the pond and the honeybee hives on site.

A welcoming, LGBTQIA+ focused gathering blends board games with meaningful conversation to encourage connection and mutual support. As a NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group, it is free and peer led for adults who have experienced mental health symptoms. Participants can share and learn from one another in a relaxed, engaging setting with guidance from trained leaders who bring their own lived experience. Presented in partnership with NAMI of Southern Ohio, First Capital PRIDE Coalition, Sojourners Care Network, and United Way of Ross County at United Way of Ross County.

Part of the Second Saturdays series, Waverly’s Farmers Market sets up along North West Street beside Black Book Beanery. The vision is a bustling marketplace that stretches around the DORA area, filled with farm fresh produce, homemade treats, handmade goods, plants, crafts, pottery, and more. Organizers are welcoming farmers, bakers, artisans, and makers who grow, bake, or create their offerings. Expect a friendly atmosphere with hot coffee and plenty of community spirit.

Coffee & Chat is a weekly conversation gathering at the Library Annex with complimentary coffee and snacks. It is open to all ages, and allies are welcome.

Create a garden themed framed skeleton in a welcoming, hands on crafting session that blends plant inspired style with Halloween flair. Each participant designs a one of a kind piece with personal details. Core supplies are provided, including a 12 by 12 frame, a 16 inch skeleton, plus florals, shells, moss, paints, lights and other accents, and you may bring special items to customize further. The price is $40 per person and includes a drink. The shop is DORA friendly, and snacks or beverages from outside are allowed. Space is limited, so advance registration is recommended.
