Explore the rich past of Woodland Cemetery, established in 1841 and counted among the nation’s earliest rural burial grounds. This guided walk visits the graves of the Wright brothers, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Erma Bombeck, James Ritty, the Stanley and Mead families, George Newcom, and other notable and notorious Dayton figures. Meet at Eichelberger Plaza at the cemetery’s main gates. Parking is available both inside and outside the gates. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water if needed. Tours run in most weather, pausing only for thunder or lightning. Reservations are required. A suggested $5 donation supports the Woodland Arboretum Foundation and its efforts in restoration, preservation, horticulture, and education that help keep Woodland a cultural resource for Dayton and Ohio.

Toad-ally Together Nerf Night at Russ Nature Reserve is an inclusive foam dart event for all ages and abilities. Admission is free and no registration is required. Presented by Greene County Parks & Trails and the Greene County Board of Developmental Disabilities, it focuses on connection, play, and plenty of fun. A limited number of Nerf blasters and darts will be available, so participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Eye protection is required for all participants. It is a friendly setting where everyone can share the excitement.

Beavercreek Golf Club hosts a stop in Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture’s Summer Entertainment Series featuring Jukebox Apocalypse playing hits spanning the '70s, '80s, and more. The performance takes place on the range and brings music and dancing to a relaxed, open air setting. This event is free. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Toad-ally Together returns with a free Lilo and Stitch themed program at Russ Nature Reserve, presented in partnership by Greene County Parks & Trails and the Greene County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Created to bring kids and families of all abilities together, it features games, crafts, and activities inspired by Lilo, Stitch, and their Hawaiian friends. The focus is on friendship, laughter, and inclusion, celebrating what makes each person unique so everyone feels welcome. This is a drop-in experience, and participants do not need to stay for the entire program. An adult or guardian is required to remain during the program. Registration is requested but not required, and walk-ins are welcome.

Enjoy a free outdoor screening of Disney’s Lilo & Stitch at Russ Nature Reserve. The film follows Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a shelter pet that is actually the runaway Experiment 626. Nicknamed Stitch, the alien learns the meaning of family, helps repair Lilo’s home life, and tries to avoid being caught. The movie is rated PG and runs 108 minutes. No registration is required. Popcorn and an activity will be available while supplies last. Guests are welcome to bring blankets or chairs for comfort. Outside food and drinks are permitted, but alcohol is not allowed.

The 55th annual DAI Oktoberfest brings together live music, family-friendly activities, standout artisans, delicious food, a welcoming Weingarten, and a lineup of more than 50 craft and international beers. Hosted by the DAI’s Associate Board, it is one of the museum’s two major fundraising events organized by 35 duos who volunteer on four-year terms. This year’s event is chaired by Briana Snyder and Max Spang, with co-chairs Randi Salyer-Frazier and Tyler Frazier. Tickets will be available for purchase.
