These are factual accounts that include graphic details and may not be suitable for all audiences. The terrain includes hills and uneven grass and can be demanding, so it is not recommended for children, older adults, or anyone who has difficulty walking long distances. The meeting point is Eichelberger Plaza at the cemetery’s main gates, with parking available both inside and outside the gates. Wear comfortable walking shoes and consider bringing water. Tours proceed in rain or shine, pausing only for thunder or lightning. Set within the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience Expo, this 12-hour challenge sends participants around a flat loop of just over 2.6 miles, aiming to see how far they can go within the time limit. The course is mostly grass and double-track trail with a small section of bike path, and results are tracked by counting laps and calculating total distance. This is a time-based event focused on personal goals rather than a set mileage. To be considered a finisher, participants must remain on the defined course for the entire duration, which includes the marked trail, the roped drop bag area behind the scoring table, and the restrooms. A headlamp or flashlight is required at the start. Finishers who stay on course for all 12 hours receive a commemorative award. Those who surpass 35 miles can qualify for an engraved mileage award to be picked up later, with no mailings. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the male and female divisions, with ties decided by who completes the final lap first. Support at the start and finish includes Tailwind, water, chips, pretzels, PB&J, and other items. A roped drop bag area near the start and finish is available for quick changes, brief breaks, and refueling. Pacers are permitted later in the day and must sign a waiver. Guide dogs and guide runners may assist visually impaired athletes, with all guides and pacers required to sign the event waiver. Parking is near the campground with restrictions on certain lots. The South Park Murder Mystery blends a neighborhood home tour with an interactive whodunit. This edition, A Killer Groove, transports participants to a 1960s story set in Historic South Park. Groups depart from Veritas Church with a neighborhood guide and an information packet, then visit several beautiful homes and locations. At each stop, actors stage a brief scene and chat with attendees, while hosts may step out of character to share details about the house. Participants ask questions, gather clues, and continue to the next site. The route takes about two hours and covers roughly 1.6 miles. The experience wraps up at Coco’s Bistro, where a drink is included with each ticket and guesses about the culprit are submitted. The solution is emailed the next day. Those who guess correctly are entered into a random prize drawing, and the selected winner is notified by email, with prizes delivered or held for pickup at a local business. Created and performed by Starr Chief Eagle, a two-time Intermountain Hoop Dance Champion in 2024 and 2025, this program offers an immersive educational experience that weaves the Lakota language, traditional narratives, and cultural teachings. Part of the Discovery Series, it supports curriculum connections in fine arts, history, social and emotional learning, and social studies, and is recommended for students in grades 3 through 8. The Blue Circle 5K and 10K run and walk at The Mandalay Event Center raises funds for Diabetes Dayton. Inspired by the blue circle, the global symbol for diabetes, this event directs proceeds to support people affected by every type of diabetes. The course starts and finishes at the venue and is timed by Key Sports. Diabetes Dayton, an Agency of LifeCare Alliance, has served the community since 1963. Dollars raised stay in the Greater Dayton area, helping to provide ADA accredited diabetes education at no cost, supplies for uninsured individuals, health screenings, presentations, resource referrals, and a summer camp for children living with Type 1 diabetes. Participants can choose the 5K or the 10K. A 15 minute per mile pace is required for the 10K, and those participants line up and begin first. Packet pickup and online registration are available in advance at the Diabetes Dayton office and on event day at the venue. Registration includes a short sleeve shirt for those who meet the shirt deadline, with options to purchase a long sleeve shirt or hoodie. Blue circle themed attire is encouraged. After registering, individuals can create a personal fundraising page to share with their network, and a referral program offers a credit for every five people who register with a personal code, up to a set maximum. A virtual option is available for anyone who prefers to participate remotely, with race items available for pickup at Diabetes Dayton or by mail. For safety and insurance reasons, animals are not permitted except for service animals, and wearing headphones or earbuds is discouraged so announcements from volunteers, staff, and first responders can be heard. To keep costs lower for participants and maximize support for local programs, finisher medals are not provided, and those who register by the shirt deadline receive a race shirt. Refunds are not available. If severe weather or other safety concerns arise, organizers may reschedule, cancel, or convert the event to a virtual race. In the case of a cancellation, the race will shift to a virtual format and shirts will be available for pickup at a later time, and items will not be mailed. Transfers to another participant are permitted through a stated deadline.

Swap puzzles in a friendly, organized setting at the Kettering-Moraine Branch Library’s Community Room. Bring puzzles to display and trade up to the number you contribute, or simply donate if you prefer not to exchange. All puzzles should be complete with no missing pieces, and pieces should be secured by taping the box closed or placing them in a zipper bag. Try to trade for items in similar condition. Enter through the main doors, turn left, and continue to the double doors on the left to reach the Community Room, which is reserved for this event. The process is simple. Participants choose a table and set out their puzzles, then receive a pad of colored notes and place one on their table as an identifier. When prompted to begin, everyone circulates and places a single note on each puzzle they want, with only one note allowed per puzzle. After tagging, return to your table to arrange trades with the person stationed there, while also coordinating exchanges for puzzles tagged at your table. Swapping continues until all marked items have been exchanged. Any puzzles you do not wish to take back can be left to be donated.
