Legacy Village presents a free summer concert series filled with live music. The season begins during the annual Art in the Village, then continues with Saturday installments of Legacy Live throughout the summer. Attendees can relax and enjoy performances as the series brings music to the weekends.

Ben Nichols of Lucero and Tim Barry share the Grog Shop stage, with Cory Branan also on the bill. As singer, songwriter, and guitarist at the helm of the Memphis alt country band Lucero, Nichols has helped shape a sound that blends grit and roots with a near punk energy. Since the late 1990s the band has released multiple albums beginning in 2001, drawing attention for that blend and for his smoky, emotional voice. Away from Lucero he has explored more acoustic material, including the 2009 EP The Last Pale Light in the West, a seven song collection inspired by Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian, recorded with Rick Steff on accordion and piano and Todd Beene on pedal steel and electric guitar. Tim Barry’s latest album, Spring Hill, opens with Ain’t Much For Talking and sets a clear tone. The record leans into candid introspection, plainspoken reflection, flashes of sharp humor, and lines that land with real force. Arriving about three years after The Roads To Richmond, close to the longest gap in his solo run, it focuses less on recent upheaval and more on where he has been, a bit of where he is headed, and the place the long road has brought him now. This is an all ages show. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show, with an additional $3 due at the door for attendees under 21.

At Cain Park’s Evans Amphitheater, the Workmen’s Circle Yiddish Concert in the Park brings together Schmaltz, Mekimi, and George Foley for a lively celebration of Jewish music and more. It is free to attend, and seats are available on a first-come basis. Schmaltz is a modern klezmer ensemble from Ann Arbor that reimagines traditional melodies with influences from jazz, Balkan, funk, Latin, and polka. Their debut album, The Seltzer Man, showcases inventive writing, spirited improvisation, and a high-energy horn section. The group has deep ties to the University of Michigan, featuring bandleader and composer Ryan Schildcrout on saxophone, Michael Gerace on trombone, Jacob Warren on bass, Christopher Gerace on trumpet, Jack Harris on drums, and pianist, arranger, and composer Seulah Noh. Mekimi, based in University Heights, performs modern Hebrew music alongside classic rock. The band has appeared at Cain Park, area synagogues, the Milky Way and Fiama’s restaurants, neighborhood street shows, and an online performance during Covid, and has also played a benefit for Magen David Adom Israel Emergency Services. The Fall 2024 issue of Cleveland Kesher recognized their contributions to the local live Jewish music scene. Pianist and singer George Foley is a longtime presence in Northeast Ohio. Classically trained, he performs ragtime, jazz, and standards from the Great American Songbook, with appearances at venues such as Nighttown, the Barking Spider, and Hyde Park. Audiences appreciate his warmth, humor, and deep knowledge of American popular music.

Ace Molar performs as part of the Rock the Boulevard Summer Concert Series at the City Hall Gazebo, offering an evening of live music, food, and community fun. Lawn chairs are welcome, and families can enjoy a summer gathering that continues throughout the season.

Experience a calming Elul sound bath led by Neurologic Music Therapist and Cantor Beth Friedman-Romell, PhD, LPMT, MT-BC, NMT™, who blends nuanced musicianship, modern neuroscience, and elements of Judaic and global spiritual traditions to create a music-centered wellness experience. The session focuses on restful listening, with sounds from crystal singing bowls, gongs, drums, wooden and ceramic flutes, and the human voice. A carefully selected set of lower-frequency bowls is used to encourage theta and delta brainwave activity associated with deep relaxation. Participants are softly guided through sound, breathwork, and focused meditation to support relaxation, healing, and personal growth. Comfort items such as a yoga mat, head support, or an eye mask are welcome. Chairs will be available.

Enjoy a free concert with Black Squirrel Winds, part of the Local 4 Series. This faculty ensemble from Kent State University took its name from the campus’s well-known black squirrels and was formed in 2011 by founding members Danna Sundet, Amitai Vardi, and Mark DeMio. The group now also features Suyeon Ko on flute and Ben Hottensmith on horn. They appear in educational recordings on YouTube and have performed hundreds of times across the greater Cleveland area. Admission is free, and tickets are not required for free events unless otherwise noted.

A relaxed open mic night at B-Side Liquor Lounge blends stand-up comedy with an open stage for performers. The evening features 2 DRINKS & A JOKE with host Ant Morrow, setting the tone before the mic opens to the crowd. Admission is $5 in advance or $10 at the door. Sections are available for larger groups, and the atmosphere focuses on easygoing vibes.

Profanatica takes the stage at Grog Shop with Cloak and Kurnugia. Pioneers in the first wave of American black metal, Profanatica is led by drummer and vocalist Paul Ledney and has carried its blasphemous vision for more than three decades. The band emerged from the earliest Incantation lineup, then rapidly issued three influential demos whose extremity was matched by provocative flyers that spread through the tape-trading underground. Their rise led to a deal with Osmose Productions and a split with Colombia’s Masacre, counted among the label’s early releases. This event is all ages. Tickets are $27.50 in advance or $32 the day of show, with an additional $3 charged at the door for attendees under 21.

An intimate anniversary concert at Edwins Restaurant marks two decades of Hubb’s Groove. The band honors its long history entertaining audiences across Northeast Ohio and beyond with top-tier musicianship and spirited performances. Expect favorite tunes, meaningful highlights, and a few surprises along the way. Presented as two shows in one evening, this milestone event offers a close, celebratory atmosphere. Capacity is limited.

Six standout performers from Northeast Ohio unite for a tribute to Broadway’s iconic male leads, honoring the actors who portrayed them and the songs that have defined the stage for decades. The program ranges from classics like Guys and Dolls and West Side Story to contemporary favorites such as The Book of Mormon and Hamilton, blending humor, heartfelt moments, and dynamic vocals. Presented at the Alma Theater, the cast features Douglas F. Bailey II, Andrew Cruse, Matthew Gittins, Joshua McElroy, Shane O’Neill, and Geoff Short, with concept and direction by Joanna May Cullinan and music direction by Anthony Trifiletti.

Debuting this summer, a scaled back edition of the concert series spotlights soloists, duos, and acoustic performers on stage.
