Free events in Marion, OH

A free watercolor painting class is offered each month and is hosted by Barb Hughey. No registration is needed. It is recommended for ages 12 and older. Voluntary donations are welcome.

This casual men’s gathering centers on a complimentary, home-cooked breakfast and easy conversation. It provides time to connect with other men in a welcoming setting, enjoy a hearty meal, and head out feeling encouraged.

Build a complete story with guidance from Instructor Storm, moving from first idea to finished piece. Each session spotlights a different part of the writing process, so you can concentrate on the skills you want to strengthen. The format is one-on-one, which suits both independent workers and those who prefer more hands-on support. This class is free to attend with donations welcome and is recommended for ages 12 and up.

Analog Youth returns to the OK Café patio with high-energy live music. Refreshing drinks and food are available, and there is no cover.

In this Creation Station session, participants turn fabric into cheerful bandanas that will be donated to the Humane Society, helping adoptable dogs catch the eye of new families. There will also be a hands-on activity that shows how to make simple tug toys for playtime. Creation Station is free and drop in, welcoming all ages and all skill levels. Attendees may bring their own food and beverages. This series is supported by United Way of North Central Ohio.

This Overdose Awareness Day gathering brings the community together to remember lives lost, support those affected by substance use, and build understanding. It is free to attend and welcoming to all ages. Attendees can expect a butterfly release in remembrance, information tables from local support organizations, a community chalk activity, and food and drinks. The event creates space to connect, honor loved ones, and look toward healing and hope. Those wishing to participate in the butterfly release can register using the QR code on the event flyer, and names of loved ones being honored will be read during the ceremony. The day centers on compassion, support, and reducing stigma.
