Huron County Parks and Central State University Extension are offering a free introductory beekeeping class for beginners. Sessions are paid in advance because space and availability are limited. Photos are delivered within seven days in a secure online gallery, with unlimited downloads and the option to order prints through the gallery.

The inaugural Vermilion Lantern Parade offers a free, family-friendly evening of creativity and connection in historic downtown Vermilion. Participants are encouraged to bring handmade LED lanterns and take part in a glowing walk that begins at Main Street Beach, moves through downtown, and returns to the Vermilion Lighthouse, with music and the gentle light of lanterns guiding the way. Those who prefer to watch can enjoy the procession from Exchange Park, the Fulper Lot lawn, or Friendship Park. For safety, only LED lanterns are permitted, and there are no open flames, lantern releases, or pets within the parade. Lantern workshops and take-home kits will be announced soon. Presented in partnership with Public Art Vermilion, Vermilion in Bloom, Arts Guild of Vermilion, and Shores & Islands Ohio.
