This back to school edition of the Local and Live concert series features live performances by students from the Fort Hayes Music Program alongside Joey Aich. The event brings together live music, drinks, and local markets as part of the series.

Groove at The Yard presents a handpicked lineup of live music throughout the summer, spanning funk, acoustic sounds, Americana, and rock with standout local performers. Gavin Adcock brings The Day I Hang It Up Tour to KEMBA Live! in Columbus, joined by Corey Kent and The Creekers for an outdoor show that goes on rain or shine. A Watkinsville, Georgia native and former Georgia Southern University football player, Adcock turned to recording after a 2021 knee injury and has since released multiple singles that together are nearing 100 million streams, including A Cigarette, which reached 12 million in less than two months. This is an all-ages event. The organizer notes that ticket resale through AXS Resale will not be immediately available and may be offered later.

Chad the Bird is a comedic essayist and deep divist who has spent 15 years delivering weekly takes on news, science, and the quirks of human life. This show features a headlining set from Chad the Bird, with performances by Victoria Vincent and Bill Larken, and hosting by Dan Sebree. A bird in the human world who enjoys what people do, Chad brings affection along with a few notes to share.

This 10th annual golf scramble benefits Speak! for the Unspoken and supports the rescue of dogs and cats with disabilities, raising vital funds to give them a second chance. Players take on 18 holes at New Albany Links in a four-person scramble format with interactive contests along the course. Perks include four drink tickets, cart rental, a hot breakfast, lunch, raffle prizes, and a swag bag for every participant. Whether aiming for the leaderboard or playing for fun, each swing contributes to lifesaving work.

Guided by Jamie Hetzel of Dancing Woods Apothecary, this hands-on session continues an herbal body care series by focusing on what to do once an herb-infused oil is ready. Participants explore the fundamentals of formulation while turning that oil into skin-focused salves, balms, lotions, and creams. Topics include selecting and using waxes and emulsifiers, plus practical techniques for crafting stable, nourishing products. Everyone will leave with two items demonstrated during class, one salve or balm and one lotion or cream. Please note that making herb-infused oils is not included, so anyone who did not attend the first class should arrive with prior knowledge of herb-infused oil preparation.

Experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the coral farming greenhouse at Reef Systems Coral Farm in New Albany, Ohio. After the tour, the day can continue with an optional group lunch at Dos Hermanos, followed by optional visits to Matt’s Corals, Rivers to Reef, and Fins2Fur. The trip is noted as about a three and a half hour drive from Louisville, Kentucky. The event welcomes families. Carpooling is encouraged to build camaraderie, and participants can share available seats or request a ride in the discussion area of the event page. Ohio Vintage Fest returns to Columbus with a two-day marketplace of vintage finds in Kasich Hall at the Ohio Expo Center. Explore more than 60 sellers emphasizing vintage apparel alongside home goods, vinyl records, toys, collectibles, and other retro treasures. General Admission is $5 and can be purchased online or at the door for either day, and tickets must be used on the day selected. A two-day General Admission option is available online for $8 through Humantix. Early Bird entry offers earlier access on Saturday only and is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Led by master drummers Cullen Daniel III and Iggy Garcia, this community drum circle at Schiller Park in German Village welcomes all ages and skill levels for a freestyle percussion experience. No prior experience is needed. Extra drums and other percussion instruments will be available, and participants can choose to drum, dance, sing, or simply enjoy the collective rhythm. The atmosphere is relaxed, family friendly, and focused on shared energy, healing, and joy. Expect an inclusive blend of drumming, dancing, singing, prayerful moments, and restorative vibrations. 8th Annual Jazz In The Creek offers a laid-back night of music and activities at The Wigwam Violet Township Government and Event Center. Enjoy live jazz from Copacetic along with tunes from DJ Skip, plus light bites, a paint and sip experience, a cigar bar hosted by Pipes and Pleasures, a bourbon tasting, and more. Attendees are welcome to bring a lawn chair and their beverage of choice. Sponsorship packages and premium seating are available.

Caamp performs at The Schottenstein Center with support from Arcy Drive and the Sam Fribush Organ Trio. The band began in Athens, Ohio when childhood friends Meier and Westfall teamed up, and their 2016 self-titled debut drew hundreds of millions of streams and earned a gold single. Their follow-up, By and By, rose to the top of the Billboard Heatseekers chart, hit number one at AAA radio, and led to festival spots at Outside Lands and Newport Folk.

The Columbus Toy & Game Show returns to the Ohio Expo Center’s Lausche Building as one of Ohio’s longest-running gatherings for toys, video games, trading card games, and collectibles. Browse more than 400 vendor tables offering a wide range of items for every kind of collector. Activities include arcade machines set to free play, face painting, and appearances by the Columbus Ghostbusters and the Rebel Legion. Concessions will be available from Schmidt’s Sausage Haus. The event welcomes collectors of all ages and provides family-friendly fun. Iron Pony Motorsports in Columbus hosts the ninth edition of this ride-in celebration of custom and classic motorcycles, welcoming bikes of every era, make, and style. Admission is free for spectators and registration applies only to exhibitors, with proceeds benefiting local charitable organizations and non-profit motorcycle events. The show puts the spotlight on builders and the people behind the machines, with participation from custom shops and riding organizations. New features include a loudest pipes contest, an expanded audio competition, and slow drags with additional riding challenges presented by the Forgotten Ones LEMC. As part of the Reasons To Ride Championship Bike Show Series, this event is a qualifier for championship shows that traditionally include Ohio Bike Week and other major regional rallies. Most entries are expected to be ridden in, and all motorcycles must be operational and safe for the road. Judging blends attendee voting with weighted judges’ scores, with some segments fully judged and a separate People’s Choice. Awards include trophies and placards, and Best of Show along with top class winners may advance to the series championships. Classes cover a wide range of builds, including vintage and modern stock and customs, radical styles such as baggers and choppers, café racers, touring and performance machines, adventure and off-road models, trikes, military and patriotic tributes, vintage restorations, and a dedicated custom paint category that can be entered alone or as an additional classification at a reduced add-on fee. A minimum of three entries is required for any class to award Best of Class, and organizers may combine or add classes as needed. Exhibitors who register in advance receive a free event T-shirt, with shirts available at registration for exhibitors at a discounted $15 and a limited number offered for $20. Limited display space is available for shops, clubs, and race teams.

Southern Oracles: A Celebration of the South Side is a one-night concert uniting a large gathering of Columbus artists to honor the city’s South Side. The program spans music, poetry, dance, and more across multiple disciplines, and its staging places the audience in relation to key Columbus neighborhood institutions. Conceived and produced by writer Scott Woods with support from the Johnstone Fund for New Music, Streetlight Guild, and the Office of the Vice Provost for the Arts at Ohio State, the event continues a tradition of spotlighting Columbus history and culture. The lineup includes the Mark Lomax Trio, J Rawls, Sam Johnson, Liquid Crystal Project, DJ Prime, Trista Hill, Trek Manifest, Jai Carey, Psyonik, Donald Isom, and Scott Woods. The concert takes place at Weigel Hall at Ohio State University, and admission is free.

Line dancing takes center stage at The Black Swan with an evening that blends instruction, great food, and a lively community. Lessons welcome beginners and improvers, with warmups and chances to practice between sessions. The floor stays active with dancing and music requests throughout the night. The full kitchen is open, and the bar features cold drinks, seasonal cocktails, and daily specials. No partner or previous experience is required.

An evening focused on connection, inspiration, and shared generosity, this gathering brings women together to learn directly from local nonprofits and make a collective impact. Three organizations will present their missions, the work they are carrying out, and the needs they see in the community. After the presentations, participants will vote to help guide how the combined contribution is distributed. The program includes time to socialize before and after the presentations and takes place at the Combustion Private Event Space. Two ways to take part are available. A Participating Attendee contributes a $100 donation, gains the opportunity to vote, learns about three nonprofits, and receives complimentary raffle tickets for prize drawings. A Guest attends without a donation, learns about the work being done, connects with other women in the community, and also receives raffle tickets, with no voting privileges.
