    Open Tea Drawer

Clackamas · 10117 SE Sunnyside Rd

Explore a rotating selection from a thoughtfully kept tea collection in a class where a tea drawer is opened and its contents set the course for discovery. Designed for enthusiasts eager to venture beyond the familiar, each session may highlight uncommon cultivars, experimental processing, aged or carefully stored leaves from private collections, and other expressions of Camellia sinensis that do not fit tidy categories. Some teas may be rare, others a bit unconventional, all chosen for curious, shared exploration. This gathering is offered on a sliding scale with a suggested contribution of $40. Contributions of $30, $40, or more are welcome, and offerings above the suggested amount help keep the experience accessible while supporting the care that sustains it. A $15 option is available for BIPOC participants as part of a commitment to equity and inclusion. If cost remains a barrier, options can be arranged so participation stays within reach. Everyone is welcome. The space centers openness, care, and community, inviting people to arrive as they are and connect through the quiet, transformative nature of tea. To support a mindful environment and those with sensory sensitivities, participants are asked to avoid strong fragrances. Attendees are encouraged to honor their own needs and respect the boundaries of others, cultivating a gentle, meditative atmosphere where belonging can flourish. The class is guided by D'Guar (they/them), a trans person of color, tea guide, and community builder based in Portland. Through Water Fairy Tea, their work weaves education with devotion and story, inviting participants to meet tea as more than a beverage, a companion for presence, conversation, self discovery, and care for the living world. This gathering acknowledges that it takes place on the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Clackamas, Chinook, Kathlamet, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and other Indigenous peoples, with gratitude for their enduring presence, care, and wisdom.

    Oregon City Repair Fair

Oregon City · Oregon City Public Library, 606 John Adams St

    Free

A free community repair event at the Oregon City Public Library invites community members to troubleshoot and, when possible, fix household items with help from skilled volunteers. It is a friendly way to learn about repair, save money, and keep usable things out of the landfill. Attendees may bring clean clothing and textiles, small electronics, and small home appliances. Availability varies by volunteer expertise, so to confirm whether a specific item can be worked on, email sustainability@clackamas.us with a brief description. Please do not bring oversized or heavy items that one person cannot carry, microwaves, printers, DVD players, VCRs, televisions, computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, large appliances, anything containing coolant, gasoline, or other hazardous materials, or unwashed clothing. To keep lines moving, only one broken item per person is examined at a time. After each assessment or repair, return to the registration table to be matched with another fixer, and note that repairs taking longer than about 30 minutes may be postponed. On arrival, sign in at the front desk and complete a liability waiver. Items may be placed on a hold table so volunteers can review them and take projects that fit their skills, which can mean items are not always seen strictly in order. Plan to wait with your item, as leaving it may result in losing your place, and understand that while a successful fix is not guaranteed, volunteers will give it their best effort.

    WombSong

Portland · SaunaGlo, 1915 SE Jefferson St

For those longing for ritual and shared sacred space, this intimate song circle gathers a small community around the fire to practice an ancient tradition of exchanging songs that uplift those who connect with the Mother archetype, the aspect that nurtures, cradles, creates, and remembers. The experience weaves heat and cold as ritual allies, with optional movement between sauna and cold water. Inside the sauna, guided self-massage helps soften the body, followed by embodied vocal toning to awaken the voice. Simple call and response songs invite everyone in, with time for reflection and sharing, and no prior singing experience needed. The focus is authenticity over performance, inviting participants to remember the body and voice as vessels for care, connection, and creation. Singing together becomes a way to tend the inner Mother and welcome the sacred through shared sound. Every voice is welcomed as a gift. Attendance is limited to an intimate group of 12 women and the cost is $25 per person. The gathering is open to anyone who identifies with the mother archetype in any way, including mothers of living or nonliving children and those who mother nonhuman beings. Arriving with time to settle is encouraged, and the sauna and cold plunge may be enjoyed before the space closes to the public and the circle begins. Please plan to enter the sauna clean and dry, without oils or lotions, to support self-massage. A robe, two towels, and sandals are recommended. While the gathering is guided, participation is always by choice, and the circle holds room for open sharing, open hearts, and compassionate witnessing without attempting to fix or change another’s experience.

    Repair Fair

Oregon City · Clackamas Community College, 19600 Molalla Ave

    Free

This free community repair gathering invites people to bring worn or malfunctioning household items for troubleshooting and, when possible, repairs with the help of volunteer fixers. It takes place in the ITC Holden Industrial Center lobby at Clackamas Community College, with signs posted around campus on the day to help you find the location. Acceptable items include clean clothing and other textiles, small electronics, and small home appliances. Availability of specific repairs can vary, so to confirm whether a particular item can be handled, email sustainability@clackamas.us with a brief description. To keep things moving, only one broken item per person is evaluated at a time. After an item is reviewed or repaired, return to the registration table to be matched with another fixer. Repairs that would take longer than 30 minutes may be postponed. When you arrive, sign in at the front desk and complete a liability waiver. Your item may go to a hold table while volunteers assess the likelihood of a successful fix and select projects that suit their skills, which can result in items being seen slightly out of order. You may need to wait with your item, and items left unattended will lose their place. Items that are not accepted include anything too large or heavy for one person to carry, microwaves, printers, DVD players, VCRs, televisions, computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, large appliances, items containing coolant, gasoline, or other hazardous materials, and unwashed clothing. While a successful fix is not guaranteed, volunteers will do their best to help you learn about repair, save money, and keep usable items out of the trash.

Intro To The Myth of Tea

Clackamas · 10117 SE Sunnyside Rd

This tea class offers an approachable introduction to the five main styles of tea, including green, white, oolong, black, and dark tea. Participants will learn about the origins of Camellia sinensis, follow its history and cultural connections, and experience the practice of gongfu ceremonial tea service. The focus is on how tea invites connection with the natural world and with our own humanity. A sliding scale contribution is welcomed, with a suggested amount of $35 and options such as $25 or more if that feels appropriate. Contributing above the suggestion helps keep the experience accessible for those with financial need and supports the care that goes into holding spaces like this. There is also a $15 option for BIPOC participants to help reduce barriers and affirm equity. If cost remains a challenge, arrangements can be made so that tea stays within reach for anyone who feels called to attend. Every form of support, financial or energetic, upholds the spirit of community supported education. Everyone is welcome. Attendees are encouraged to arrive as they are and take part in a setting grounded in openness, care, and community, where each presence is honored and learning happens together through the transformative qualities of tea. To foster a mindful and inclusive environment, please avoid strong fragrances and be considerate of sensory needs, personal boundaries, and shared calm so that tea and a sense of belonging can flourish. Five dollars from each participant will be donated to Q Center, a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ2SIA+ communities through advocacy, resources, and safe spaces. The class is led by D’Guar (they/them), a trans person of color, tea guide, and community builder based in Portland, Oregon. Through Water Fairy Tea, they create spaces where tea becomes a bridge to nature, presence, and belonging. Their approach weaves education with devotion, inviting people to meet tea not only as a beverage but as a living companion in self discovery and community care. This gathering acknowledges the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Clackamas, Chinook, Kathlamet, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other Indigenous ancestors and communities, with gratitude for their enduring care and wisdom.

    Gaiwan Brewing Basics

Clackamas · 10117 SE Sunnyside Rd

Explore the art of brewing tea with a gaiwan, the classic lidded bowl whose simplicity reveals rich nuance. This hands-on class covers how to hold, pour, and brew with ease, examines the vessel’s anatomy, and builds confidence in finding your own rhythm for steeping. Small, meaningful choices that shape each cup are highlighted so you leave with practical methods to use at home and a refreshed relationship with tea. Rooted in technique yet guided by the senses, the session fosters presence and intuition. Brewing is approached as an ongoing dialogue between you and the leaf, with the gaiwan as the place where that conversation begins. This offering uses a sliding scale. The suggested contribution is $45. Options such as $35 or amounts above the suggested figure are welcome, and higher contributions help keep the experience accessible for those with financial need. BIPOC participants who would benefit from it may contribute $15. If price remains a hurdle, the organizer is committed to working with participants so tea education stays within reach. Everyone is welcome in a space shaped by openness, care, and community. To support those with sensory sensitivities, please avoid strong fragrances. Participants are encouraged to honor personal needs and boundaries, creating a calm, shared atmosphere where tea and belonging can thrive. The class is led by D'Guar (they/them), a trans person of color, tea guide, and community builder based in Portland. Through Water Fairy Tea, they hold spaces where education and devotion meet, inviting people to meet Camellia sinensis as a companion in reflection, connection, and community care with the natural world. Clinic 4 — From Evaluation to Finished Trim

    Molalla · Molalla, Oregon

In Molalla, Oregon, this half-day clinic turns concepts from the evening clinics into practical, hands-on learning with live horses. The trimming process is slowed down so participants can see how hooves are assessed before any work begins, understand the plan for each horse, watch a full trim from start to finish, and then observe how the hoof is reevaluated afterward. When appropriate, supervised rasping gives attendees a chance to practice what they are learning. Participants may add an approved horse for an additional $30. Up to four horses will be accepted for this clinic, and each approved horse will be evaluated and trimmed during the session. Owners may be able to help trim their own horse under direct supervision when it is considered appropriate and safe. Horse spots are first come, first served, require advance approval, are limited to four, and horses should be reasonably safe to handle and able to stand for hoof care. Current hoof photos may be requested during the approval process. Tuition is $150 per person. This clinic is part of the four-part Understanding the Hoof Series, with a full series option available for $250. Family pricing and barn or group rates are offered. Enrollment is limited, advance registration is required, and a minimum of six paid participants is needed.

Divination: The Myth of White Tea

Clackamas · 10117 SE Sunnyside Rd

A focused white tea tasting highlights the quiet elegance and lively character of this style. Participants explore the spectrum of flavor, from the honeyed depth that develops in aged leaves to the tender florals and fresh green notes of younger teas. Guided, mindful brewing and tasting illuminate how white tea can hold both delicacy and strength, while nurturing a calm, present state. The gathering follows a sliding scale with a suggested contribution of $35. Options include $25, the suggested $35, or a higher amount that helps broaden access for those with financial need. In recognition of systemic barriers faced by BIPOC communities, a $15 option is available. If cost remains a hurdle, additional arrangements can be made to keep the experience accessible. Care for community shapes the space. All are welcome to arrive as they are, and each presence is honored. To support sensory comfort, attendees are asked to avoid strong fragrances.
