Folklore and drag come together in a monthly showcase that links today’s performance art to stories spanning centuries. This edition highlights traditional tales with feminist themes, presented by a rotating cast of drag performers with theatrical lighting and brief educational moments that explore the origins and meanings behind the folklore. Seating is arranged at tables with chairs in a temperature-controlled room. The venue has a large free parking lot and is wheelchair accessible. Admission is donation based, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Payment is accepted at the door by cash or Cash App, and proceeds are shared evenly among the cast and crew. Food and drinks are not sold on site, but Chan’s Steakery across the street is a convenient spot before or after the show. This session in the Washington County Master Gardener Association In the Garden series focuses on preparing for winter and setting up the garden for success throughout the year. OSU Extension Master Gardeners lead an indoor lesson covering care for landscape plants, best practices for planting trees and shrubs, and the key tasks that ready vegetable and fruit gardens for colder weather while protecting the soil. After the classroom portion, the visit continues at the WCMGA Education Garden with a demonstration of proper planting techniques, followed by time at the PCC Rock Creek vegetable and fruit garden to discuss winter preparation on site. The Oregon Mini Society is organizing a multi day road trip to Monterey in celebration of the MINI TAKES THE STATES 20th anniversary. This eight day journey features coastal drives, towering redwoods, wine country, mountain passes, and plenty of MINI camaraderie. Participants are encouraged to pack light and bring 2 way radios, sunscreen, water, and a good dose of patience for RV traffic. The drive begins at MINI of Portland and heads to Bandon with pauses at D River State Park, lunch in Newport, a stop in Florence, and an overnight at the Best Western Inn at Face Rock. The route continues to Garberville with a visit to the Gold Beach Visitor’s Center, lunch in Crescent City, a rest in Eureka, and lodging at a Best Western Plus, including a highlight along the Avenue of the Giants. From there, the group travels to Novato with a stop in Fort Bragg, lunch in Point Arena, and a stay at the Best Western Plus Novato Oaks Inn, plus a chance to experience a drive through redwood tree. The next leg reaches Seaside via San Francisco with photo opportunities at the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Lombard Street, lunch at Cameron’s Pub in Half Moon Bay, a photo stop in Capitola, and lodging at SureStay by Best Western Seaside Monterey. At this point, the official MINI TAKES THE STATES activities begin. Plans call for a Rise & Rally at Cardinale Stadium before heading to Sonoma, an evening gathering at SOMO Village Event Center, and lodging in Santa Rosa. The following day moves from Sonoma to Lake Tahoe with a Rise & Rally at Sonoma County Fairgrounds and an evening event at Palisades Tahoe, with overnight accommodations to be determined. The return leg goes from Lake Tahoe to Mount Shasta with a Goodbye Rally at Palisades Tahoe, then north via Reno and Susanville to an overnight at the Best Western Plus Tree House in Mount Shasta. The final stretch continues back to Portland on I-5. Overnight lodging is each participant’s responsibility, and the hotel listings are suggestions intended to make evenings together and morning departures easier. For the MINI TAKES THE STATES portion, booking near the next day’s Rise & Rally start is recommended. Separate registration is required for official MINI TAKES THE STATES events. Final daily meet up points and departure details will be shared by text with registered Oregon Mini Society participants, and a group text will be used for updates and coordination. At the WCMGA Education Garden at Portland Community College - Rock Creek, this family friendly fall gathering highlights spiders, beneficial insects, and wildlife in the garden during fall and winter. Community partner booths provide information about these creatures and their roles in the seasonal landscape. Participants can take on the Spidermania Scavenger Hunt, make a Spider Pop, and learn practical ways to support wildlife throughout fall and winter.

Fall into Gardening 2026 at the Milwaukie Community Center offers free garden education with 45 minute classes and expert gardening advice. Meet at MINI of Portland, then set out on a scenic backroads drive of about 40 to 45 minutes to Plumper Pumpkin Patch & Tree Farm, a family run working farm on 65 acres of former dairy land with rolling hills and views of the Willamette Valley. Once there, take part in Punkin Chunkin by launching a pumpkin from an air cannon, or line up your shot with the Apple Air Cannon at targets in the field. Explore a large corn maze or a smaller one for younger visitors, slide on the Squeal Slide, try pumpkin bowling, enjoy pony rides, cheer on pig races, take a hayride, and spend time with friendly farm animals. Instead of recreating earlier favorites, Scofield brings fresh interpretations drawn from his Blue Matter, Uberjam, and A Go Go periods, alongside new pieces in a similar spirit. He appears with Scofield alum and drummer-producer Adam Deitch (Lettuce), keyboardist Larry Goldings (Scary Goldings, James Taylor), and bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Co., Tedeschi Trucks Band, Allman Brothers). The program leans into the fusion grooves audiences often request, delivered by a lineup assembled to let the music speak.

Oregon Mini Society is organizing a scenic backroads tour to the 92nd annual Verboort Sausage & Kraut Festival, a Dutch-style celebration that benefits the small Catholic community and school in Verboort with support from over 850 volunteers. The day begins with a meet-up at MINI of Portland, followed by the monthly club meeting that includes a remote conversation with Chris Dawson of England, who worked alongside John Cooper, then the group heads out toward Forest Grove on a picturesque route. Upon arrival, participants can use the drive-thru for sausage and kraut to-go or park to explore the Dutch bazaar featuring handmade holiday decor, quilts, blankets, and potholders, pick up homemade baked goods and jams, enjoy family-friendly bingo, watch college football in the beer garden, and browse festival merchandise before sitting down to a meal. This outing is limited to Oregon Mini Society members.

Beyond the marketplace, the event features sideshow performances on stage and offers the chance to learn the craft of taxidermy with classes held during the expo.
