Homeschool Park Meetup
A casual homeschool park meetup in Hillsboro offers unstructured playtime for kids and friendly conversation for moms in a low pressure setting. Everyone is welcome to arrive exactly as they are. The gathering takes place at Oro the Friendly Forest Giant Playground, a popular and easy to find spot for families. Attendance is flexible, with no need to be there every week, and the group generally uses the same park to keep things familiar. Whether you are exploring homeschooling, just starting out, or have years of experience, you are welcome.
Oro the Friendly Forest Giant PlaygroundAfter School Art Kids
An after school art club at Valley Art invites students in grades 1 through 8 to explore a range of media, including drawing, painting, pastels, sculpture, and printmaking. Projects rotate through the year, making it easy to keep participating over multiple sessions. The format is flexible, giving experienced young artists room to focus on personal pieces with studio materials, guidance from an instructor, and constructive feedback. Forest Grove Community School students are met on their campus and walk to Valley Art, and students from charter, ELC, private, home, and other schools are welcome to register. Payment options include a $30 trial class that comes with a sketchbook and can be prorated if continuing, a 5 week session for $125, and a 15 week session for $345. Those choosing 5 or 15 week plans may pay half up front and the balance midway through, and full year families make at least six installments. Sessions do not meet when Forest Grove Community School is closed. Registration is available anytime.
