Neighborhood Health Center’s annual health fair offers a free, community-focused day of care and connection. The event provides convenient access to essential services in a welcoming, family friendly setting, and no appointment or insurance is required. Complimentary offerings include vision screenings, blood pressure checks, dental health checks, car seat checks, assistance with OHP insurance, fresh local produce, hands-on activities, information from community organizations, and free gifts and prizes. Enjoy a free, family-friendly bike ride that tours Bagley, Hamby, and Griffin Oaks parks. The ride starts and ends at WashCo Bikes, and there will be kids activities and tune-ups available.

Tense, tactical skirmishes take center stage in a monthly league built around the Spearhead format for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Participants can complete up to one game per week during the month, with victory points recorded across all matches. Earn an additional 10 victory points for each unit from your Spearhead that you assemble and paint during the month. When the month wraps up, the highest total is honored on the Wall of Honor. There is no entry fee, and weekly games can be played during the regular Sigmar Saturday or the dedicated Saturday League Night reserved for these battles. To participate, bring a Spearhead force along with one of the current Spearhead sets: Fire & Jade, Sand & Bone, or City of Ash.

This easy, fun, and low-key family day features free throwing for kids ages 8–17 when accompanied by a paying adult. The offer is available all day during open hours and is a good fit for families and birthdays. Music Bingo is offered, and barbecue is available all day with Fat Baby Barbecue. Lanes can be reserved in advance, and walk-ins are possible if space allows.

Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and pack snacks for a picnic on the Walters lawn while the music drifts through the air. If temperatures are high, the performance will be moved indoors. This event is open to all ages and requires no tickets.

At Magnolia Park, Art in the Park blends literacy and art for elementary and middle school children. Rocio Espinoza-Cotero of the Hillsboro Public Library reads the featured story in Spanish, followed by an English reading from Barbara Mason. Afterward, participants create art projects inspired by the book’s themes. The art lesson is offered at no cost. Each child takes home a kit that includes a library-selected book suited to their age and a complimentary coloring book from Golden Road Arts.

Art in the Park blends reading and hands-on creativity for elementary and middle school children. At each Hillsboro session, a carefully selected library book anchors a no-cost art lesson. The story is presented twice, first in Spanish by Rocio Espinoza-Cotero of the Hillsboro Public Library, then in English by Barbara Mason. After listening, children create artwork inspired by the themes of the book. Each participant receives a take-home kit with age-appropriate books from the library and a complimentary coloring book created by Golden Road Arts.
