A lively social dance night in downtown Tigard brings together West Coast Swing, Country Two Step, Country Swing, and line dancing on resilient hardwood floors with quality lighting and sound. A bar serves beer, wine, and cider, and the event is open to ages 16 and up. The schedule includes open social dancing along with a combined guided line dancing segment. Before the social, instruction is offered with options for Country Swing 2/3 and Level 2 Country Two Step that require instructor approval, plus Level 1 Country Two Step and line dancing for both beginners and intermediate dancers. Pricing options include 20 dollars for Country Swing or Two Step classes with the social included, 10 dollars for line dance lessons with the social included, or 5 dollars per person for the social only. All classes and the social are included with an All-Access Membership, and the event is open to the public.

Tunes are chosen collaboratively, with anyone welcome to suggest the next tune or set. The repertoire draws from Irish and Celtic pieces played at this session in the past, and a rotating TrailJams Tune of the Week may be included. The tempo stays on the moderate side, and the emphasis is on playing by ear and from memory, though referring to sheet music is fine. Typical acoustic instruments include fiddle, concertina, guitar, bodhrán, tin whistle, flute, and mandolin. This is a musician centered session rather than a formal concert, though people in the park often pause to listen or relax nearby. The setting offers room for companions to wander among the trees and trails or spend time by the river, and it is an inviting place for a walk or picnic before or after the music. There is no strict end time, so tunes may continue if the energy is there, and food and drink options in downtown Tigard make for an easy stop afterward.

Book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, with original concept and direction by Floyd Mutrux, inspired by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Designed for those seeking ritual and shared sacred space, this gathering centers the Mother archetype... the one who nourishes, holds, creates, and remembers. A small circle comes together around fire and song, with the option to move between sauna and cold water as part of the ritual. Inside the sauna there is guided self-massage to soften and open the body’s tissues, followed by embodied toning to awaken and prepare the voice. From there the group practices simple call and response songs, with pauses for reflection and sharing. No prior singing experience is needed. The focus is authenticity rather than performance. Participants are encouraged to arrive as they are and explore song, reflection, and embodied tools that support genuine expression. The intention is to remember the body and voice as vessels for care, connection, and creation, and to tend the inner Mother through shared sound. Attendance is limited to twelve women and the cost is $25 per person. The circle welcomes anyone who identifies with the Mother archetype in any way, including mothers of living or nonliving children and mothers of nonhuman beings. Early arrival is encouraged to enjoy the sauna and the cold plunge before the space closes to the public and the circle begins. Please plan to enter the sauna clean, dry, and free of oils and lotions to support self-massage. A robe, two towels, and sandals are recommended. While the gathering is guided, personal choice is honored at all times. The circle holds space for open sharing and compassionate witnessing without trying to fix or change anyone’s experience, honoring every voice as a gift and the nourishment that can arise when they are lifted together.
