Each Central Dauphin player and cheerleader is paired with the family of a fallen service member, carrying that hero’s name and story throughout the night. In a signature tradition, the names heard over the stadium honor the fallen being represented rather than the athletes on the field. Within the program, being chosen to represent a hero is regarded as a profound privilege. The event highlights the cost of freedom and recognizes Gold Star families for their courage, their love, the sacrifices they have made, and the legacies they safeguard. The atmosphere centers on gratitude, unity, and lasting remembrance.
