Presented by St. Martin's Center with speakers joining virtually, this four hour class explores the roles of attorneys, inspectors, and other professionals, how to choose a realtor, available home-buying assistance programs, and how to make sense of the paperwork. Attendance is in person only. Registration is required to reserve a seat. Computer skills are not required. Because it is a longer session, participants are encouraged to bring a packed meal, and light snacks will be available. Please plan your route, as the Bayfront Highway will be closed and a posted detour on the Bayfront Parkway will direct through traffic. St. Martin's Center provides counseling and education for people pursuing homeownership or improving their finances, with a program certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and staff trained by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.

This is an open OA meeting that welcomes anyone interested in the program, including students, support people, and healthcare professionals. The cast features Keke Palmer, Taylor Paige, Naomi Ackie, and Demi Moore. This R rated comedy satire blends sharp humor with social commentary. Admission is $10.

An amateur billiards tournament featuring scotch doubles, 9-ball, singles 8-ball, and team competitions, all run under VNEA rules with select exceptions, where jump shots are allowed. The Jack and Jill scotch doubles division is capped at 64 pairs at $100 per team with $25 in green fees included, using double elimination with a race to 4 and 3. A 9-ball bracket runs at $60 per player with $15 in green fees included, also double elimination with a race to 6 and 5 and capacity for 128 players. Entrants may choose only one of these two offerings. Singles 8-ball includes separate men’s and women’s divisions at $60 per player with $15 in green fees included, double elimination with a race to 4 and 3, and room for up to 256 men and 64 women. Team play features separate four player men’s and ladies divisions at $250 per team with $50 in green fees included, double elimination with space for 64 men’s teams and 32 ladies teams. Teams rotate formats by round, starting with 9-ball, then scotch, then 8-ball, then scotch or 8-ball in the fourth, with a quad scotch tiebreaker in the fifth. Payouts return 100 percent to players, paying the top quarter of the field and one eighth of the auction. All entries are prepaid only, and tables will be available for warm up before matches, with approximately 40 to 60 Valley tables in use. This event is for amateurs only, players must be 18 or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and slow play, sharking, theft, or any unsportsmanlike behavior can result in removal and forfeiture of fees. Participants must be present before the auction concludes to take part in it. Outside food or alcohol is not permitted, and on site food and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Entry payments can be mailed by check, certified check, or money order to Kinzua Classic Memorial Pool, or sent electronically via PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo, and all players must be fully registered and prepaid by the posted deadline. The fourth annual AJ’s Heart memorial dog walk takes place at Frontier Park, with the meeting point at the tent next to the playground and metal slides. Registration is available ahead of the walk. Modeled after The Amazing Race, this two-person foot race sends teams across a defined area of the City of Erie to complete playful, hands-on tasks at checkpoints supported by local businesses and community partners. It blends teamwork, enjoyment, and a meaningful mission into a single day. Launched in 2023 to honor Kyle Swain, a former EmergyCare EMT and communications center dispatcher who pursued service in the U.S. Army and died during basic training from a heat-related illness, the event continues his legacy with support from Kyle’s family and friends. Participants contribute to community health and safety, pay tribute to Kyle’s memory, and help fund EMS training and life-saving equipment that equips crews to respond when seconds count.

Lake Erie Lights of PA hosts a community Fall Fest at the Erie Land Lighthouse featuring food trucks, live music, arts and crafts vendors, raffles, a bake sale, and more. Entry is free, and tower climbs are available by donation. Educational activities will be available, reflecting the mission of the Presque Isle Light Station | Lake Erie Lights of PA to preserve Erie’s historic lighthouses, share their value with the community, and interpret them for future generations. These seasonal festivals feature more than 20 vendors and performers. Vendors can reserve a single 12-by-12-foot space for $35, sized to fit a 10-by-10-foot tent with a two-foot buffer between neighboring tents. Vendors provide their own tent, tables, chairs, displays, and weight bags. Tents must be weighted, and ground stakes are not permitted. Final booth placement is determined by the Presque Isle Light Station. Each vendor is asked to donate one raffle item with a minimum value of $25.

Green Jellÿ brings its prank-filled blend of punk and metal to the stage with a show built on outlandish costumes, oversized props, and unpredictable antics that turn a concert into a full-on party. The group began in Kenmore, New York and once performed under the name Green Jell-O, later changing it after pressure from the dessert brand. The tongue-in-cheek name matched their early ethos of hiding rough edges behind goofy theatrics. In 1988 they connected with Gwar and picked up techniques for crafting larger-than-life stage pieces using latex, papier-mâché, chicken wire, and even couch cushions. Their bizarre, cartoon-inspired look drew a curious following and led to a video-only deal with Zoo Records. Over time the lineup has included more than 74 contributors who often perform under aliases such as Marshall Staxx and Jesus Quisp.
