Across two EPs and a debut full-length, their work nods to bands like The Jesus Lizard, Unwound, and June of 44, with songs that land quickly and take unexpected turns. cataract performs as a core duo, with Ben on drums and Jake handling guitar and vocals, and has recently added Porter in their live setup on bass and lead guitar. Their lyrics dwell in a melancholic space while thick fuzz and powerful percussion drive the sound. Ben and Jake have collaborated for over a decade across various projects and only recently began sharing this music more broadly through recordings and live shows.
