Families can gather at the library for open play and friendly conversation. The carpet is rolled out for a relaxed session with puzzles, building blocks, and lots of books to enjoy together. Even when storytime is not offered, this meetup provides a simple way to connect with friends and read or play. Admission is free and no registration is needed. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Supported by the Friends of the Library. This is a recurring program and will be cancelled if the library is closed.

Lincoln Library’s Monday Afternoon Book Club offers a relaxed space to discuss literature. The group meets on the third Monday of each month. To read ahead, ask a librarian for a copy in your preferred format, including digital, book on CD, or large print, or consult the library catalog. The SSJNN Little Italy Farmers Market brings together SSJNN Urban Farm produce with offerings from Wild Field Urban Farm, Laughing Hill Farm, Beichner Farms, Post Apples Farm, Blooming Valley, Fat Hawk Farm, Good Hill Farm, Strickland Honey Farm LLC, and others. On the last Monday of the month, the market includes live music as part of a special event.

This recurring drop-in program at Lincoln Community Center Library offers time with therapy dogs. Participants can read aloud, tell jokes, or share a favorite book while the dogs listen. Arrival and departure are flexible. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase, and outside food and drink are allowed.

A community food pantry distribution supports neighbors in the 16506 zip code who are facing food insecurity. The distribution takes place in the Clare-Wolfe Lounge at St. Paul’s. Park on the Caton Street side of the building, follow the posted signs, and use the ramp to enter the lounge. This service is offered on a monthly basis, with schedule adjustments in November and December due to the holidays.

Gain a clear path to homeownership at a free, in-person pre-purchase workshop in the Community Classroom at Blasco Library, on the ground floor near the reference desk. Presented by St. Martin's Center with speakers joining virtually, this four hour class explores the roles of attorneys, inspectors, and other professionals, how to choose a realtor, available home-buying assistance programs, and how to make sense of the paperwork. Attendance is in person only. Registration is required to reserve a seat. Computer skills are not required. Because it is a longer session, participants are encouraged to bring a packed meal, and light snacks will be available. Please plan your route, as the Bayfront Highway will be closed and a posted detour on the Bayfront Parkway will direct through traffic. St. Martin's Center provides counseling and education for people pursuing homeownership or improving their finances, with a program certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and staff trained by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.

Flagship Steel Band presents a free performance open to all during the West Bayfront Porch Fest. The music will be outdoors, so bring a lawn chair or blanket for comfortable listening. Donations are accepted.
