Events in Erie today

In the Iroquois Children’s Room or Program Room, families can enjoy open-ended building activities and free play in a relaxed setting. The session is self-directed, offering an easy way for caregivers and kids to connect with other families. Families are welcome, and no registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a recurring program and will be canceled when the Iroquois Library is closed.

Compete in weekly One Piece Card Game tournaments at In The Zone Gaming. The event follows the Core constructed format with a Swiss structure, featuring 40 minute, best of one rounds. Entry is $5 and the field is capped at 16 players. Every participant receives a participation pack and at least one booster from the current set, first place takes home the winner promo pack, and extra packs are awarded based on placement and overall attendance. Advance registration through the app is encouraged.

Set aside an hour for gentle breathwork followed by a restorative sound bath with Rhonda. The session begins with simple breathing practices that quiet mental noise, release tension, and help you reconnect with your body and the present moment. Then relax and lie back as soothing vibrations from the sound bath do the work. Many participants describe a calmer mind and a noticeable drop in stress by the end. No experience is needed, and there is no requirement to be spiritual or flexible. Come as you are and let breath and sound support you.

Players of all experience levels can take part in Pokémon TCG Standard format play at In The Zone Gaming. Bring your own cards to battle and trade, with opportunities to pick up game fundamentals and experience the flow of competitive play before stepping into tournaments. The entry fee is $5 each week. Every participant receives a Pokémon booster pack after the tournament, and additional packs are given out at random. League activities take place in public venues and are run by official organizers, and many locations also host Pokémon Championship Series events for newer competitors.

Yin Yoga is taught by Sydney Lesseski in the Liminal Space. This weekly class offers a consistent opportunity to practice.

This event is dedicated to getting the printed issue of Erie Gay News ready to go out. Volunteers are needed and appreciated.

Erie hosts the Firefighter Challenge U.S. National Championship, a high energy showcase of the strength, stamina, and expertise the fire service demands. Firefighters from across the United States and Canada gather at Perry Square to tackle a sequence of rigorous firefighting tasks, competing against time and one another for national honors in individual, tandem team, and relay team categories. Snap-tite Hose is the presenting partner for this championship. Entry is free, and tickets are not needed. Competitors can obtain registration and scheduling information from the event organizers. Details for volunteers will be shared soon. The championship celebrates the dedication, athleticism, and professionalism of the fire service.

The US finals of the Firefighter Challenge take place at Perry Square. This is a multi day 2026 finale presented at the venue.

LECOM Institute for Successful Living hosts dementia caregiver support groups across the Erie area. Sessions are offered at different times and locations so caregivers can choose what fits their schedule. If attending in person is not possible, virtual support group options are available.

The Millcreek Branch Knit and Crochet Club offers a relaxed setting for crafters to bring their own works in progress and create in the community room alongside others who enjoy fiber arts. All experience levels are welcome, and participants only need a current project and an interest in making with others. Beginners can explore the library’s Maker Kits, including options for crochet, long loom, and round loom knitting. This recurring program is canceled whenever Millcreek Library is closed.

A relaxed crafting meet-up in the Iroquois Community Room welcomes makers to work on their own projects in friendly company. Bring what you are currently creating, whether it is knitting, needlework, quilting, card making, watercolor or crochet, and share finished pieces with the group. Conversation and idea swapping are part of the experience. This is a self-guided program. Children younger than 13 must attend with an adult. The gathering repeats regularly and will not be held when Iroquois Library is closed.

Players can explore new decks in a weekly Organized Play Nexus Night. The $5 entry includes a Nexus Night pack and a booster from the most recent set for participating. Capacity is limited to 16.

Live music fills the Food Hall with performances by local musicians from around the region, spanning genres like R&B, folk rock, funk, jazz, pop, and acoustic. Performances are set in the IPPA Pizza area. You can pick up dinner from any open kitchen and bring it to IPPA Pizza to enjoy with the music, and checking which kitchens are open before arriving can help plan your meal. Ask about featured specials, which may include $5 burgers at CheesErie and Happy Hour at IPPA.

A weekly board game meetup that is free and open to the public takes place in the HD Legacy tabletop room. The gathering welcomes all ages and backgrounds, and participants often bring a rotating selection of modern tabletop games. Attendees may bring a favorite game or choose from those shared by members, and the lineup changes from week to week. The group meets in the tabletop location next to the cafe, not in the card area. Arrival and departure are flexible. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase, and outside food and drink are allowed.

A community food pantry distribution supports neighbors in the 16506 zip code who are facing food insecurity. The distribution takes place in the Clare-Wolfe Lounge at St. Paul’s. Park on the Caton Street side of the building, follow the posted signs, and use the ramp to enter the lounge. This service is offered on a monthly basis, with schedule adjustments in November and December due to the holidays.

Enjoy a calm crafting session during the final 60 to 90 minutes that Stitches is open. People gather at a shared table inside Grounded Print Shop to work on their own fiber projects and unwind together. Cross stitch, knitting, crochet, or simply spending time with creative company are all welcome. Bring whatever you are working on and spend some unhurried time stitching alongside others.

This weekly event features laid back Commander matches at In The Zone Gaming. A random promo card is awarded when the Eventlink code is entered in the Wizards Companion App.

Hosted at Tom Ridge Environmental Center Foundation, this event explores Eastern and Western perspectives on blood and vital energy through a mix of lectures and interactive practice. Expect a balance of conceptual learning and practical application aimed at deepening understanding across both traditions.

Unwed Sailor appears alongside Amplifiers and Gaoh at Feed Media Arts Center. This multi-artist lineup brings these acts together on one stage for a music event.

Erie Bird Observatory and LEAF present an exploration of local bird life at Frontier Park. Participants can practice bird identification, with chances to spot wintering songbirds, raptors, and other species. The outing is beginner friendly, and no registration is required.

At the Millcreek Branch, adults can unwind with a relaxed coloring session held each Saturday. Focusing on a simple, creative activity can reduce stress and encourage a sense of calm while engaging motor skills, the senses, and imagination. Materials are provided, including coloring pages and colored pencils. Those who would rather read than color can explore the library’s collection for titles on the benefits of coloring, or even try a murder mystery that features coloring books. This is a recurring event, and it will not take place if the Millcreek Library is closed.

Gain a clear path to homeownership at a free, in-person pre-purchase workshop in the Community Classroom at Blasco Library, on the ground floor near the reference desk. Presented by St. Martin's Center with speakers joining virtually, this four hour class explores the roles of attorneys, inspectors, and other professionals, how to choose a realtor, available home-buying assistance programs, and how to make sense of the paperwork. Attendance is in person only. Registration is required to reserve a seat. Computer skills are not required. Because it is a longer session, participants are encouraged to bring a packed meal, and light snacks will be available. Please plan your route, as the Bayfront Highway will be closed and a posted detour on the Bayfront Parkway will direct through traffic. St. Martin's Center provides counseling and education for people pursuing homeownership or improving their finances, with a program certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and staff trained by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.

This is an open OA meeting that welcomes anyone interested in the program, including students, support people, and healthcare professionals. Visitors are expected to honor the anonymity of those present. The meeting space and restrooms are wheelchair accessible, and entry is through the rear double doors. Visitor etiquette guidelines are available for those who would like to review them in advance.

A family and dog friendly fall festival and fundraiser at Frontier Park in Erie features food, music, and plenty of activities while raising support for rescue animals in the community. Expect local food trucks, the Erie Beer Co. beer garden, vendors and makers from the area, activities for both people and dogs, and the Franklin Fund basket raffle. Funds raised support Because You Care’s mission, including medical care for rescued animals, food, shelter, enrichment, help for animals with special medical needs, and spay and neuter assistance. Because You Care is a volunteer-driven nonprofit rescuing and rehoming animals across northwestern Pennsylvania. Sponsor and vendor opportunities are available.

Female Feature Fest IV assembles artists from Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania for a multi-genre music showcase that spans intimate acoustic sets and full-band performances. The lineup features Battle Chapel, Black Wolf & The Thief, BloodKlotz, Candace Campana, Deja Blue, Drown the Deep, GOOCH, Judy of Glass Aeros, KeKe Diamond Band, Li' Marie, Maxilla, Modern Fossils, Reign of Z, Snapcat Bandits, Storms Within, The Walk, Wasted Society, and Worship Your Path. Vendors include Wrapped Up Crafts, Hope's Heartstrings, Shadow Knight Curiosities, Wicked Pretties, The Raven’s Nest Oddities & Curiosities, and Fairy Gothmother Kreations.
