Fourth Tuesday Free Community Shape-Note Sing

    Bethlehem · Godfrey Daniels, 7 E 4th St

Community members come together for shape-note singing in South Side Bethlehem at Godfrey Daniels. This free gathering features tunes primarily from The Sacred Harp, 1991 edition, with occasional selections from The Shenandoah Harmony, 2012. Books are available to borrow or purchase. All are welcome, and no prior singing experience is needed. Rooted in a long-standing American tradition, shape-note singing uses a distinctive notation for four-part social harmony, with music that spans familiar hymns like Amazing Grace and early New England fuging tunes.
