The Borough of Wyomissing partners with the Animal Rescue League of Berks County to bring a mobile vaccine clinic to the Wyomissing Fire Department, offering an easy, low-cost way to keep pets protected. Dogs and cats can receive core shots, including rabies, and microchipping is available to help reunite lost animals with their families. Staying current on rabies vaccination safeguards individual pets and supports the health of the entire community. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Youth Chess Club

Kitten Yoga

Classic cars roll into Community UCC for Cruise Nights, a friendly gathering where owners showcase their vehicles and visitors can take in the lineup. A home-cooked meal is part of the experience, and the atmosphere makes it easy to strike up conversations and meet someone new. Music from the 1950s and 1960s sets a nostalgic tone that invites reminiscing and easygoing conversation. There are a few Thursdays when the gathering does not take place.

Chair Yoga

Experience a gentle, chair-based yoga series suitable for every level, focused on supporting overall well-being. Sessions include guided breathing and brief meditation, along with movements that lengthen muscles and both ease and strengthen the joints, all while remaining seated. There is no need to get on the floor, and mats are not required. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring two yoga blocks; straps will be available and a limited number of blocks can be borrowed by newcomers. Instruction by Linda builds progressively so participants can notice improvement and continue the practice at home. In the event of severe weather, check with the library or Linda to confirm the class is running. Offered as a community service by the library, this program is free of charge. The Grille at Bear Creek — Wing Night and Corn Hole

Come out to Bear Creek Mountain Resort for a weekly cornhole tournament held in the Rock Garden, followed by All-You-Can-Eat Wing Night at The Grille at Bear Creek. The tournament is free to enter, open to all ages, and uses 2-player teams. Check-in and warm-ups begin at 6:00 PM, with bracket play starting at 6:30 PM. Rock The River

Float the river at Jim Dietrich Park while a band performs on the farmhouse lawn. Aqua Om Paddle provides kayak and paddleboard rentals so you can paddle or anchor and enjoy the music from the water during the park’s Summer Concert Series. Food and beverage vendors will be set up on land, offering opportunities to support local businesses throughout the evening. The vibe is relaxed, blending outdoor recreation with live entertainment in a scenic setting. Rentals are $45 and require preregistration. Participants bringing their own equipment can float without registration.

SlothLoveChunk brings live music to Jim Dietrich Park as part of Muhlenberg Township’s Summer Concert Series. The stage is set on the front lawn of the historic farmhouse beside the river, creating a relaxed setting for a summer evening with community and good vibes. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfortable seating. The concert includes a brief intermission, and plans may change in case of inclement weather. A drink truck offers a curated selection of adult beverages, including local beers and mixed drinks, and outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Rotating food vendors serve a variety of eats, and local Boy and Girl Scouts sell sweet treats to support their programs.

Bungee Fly & Fit

Bungee Fly & Fit delivers an upbeat, low impact workout that blends cardio, strength training, and acrobatic movement with the support of a bungee harness. With less stress on the joints, you can move through jumps, lunges, and even playful flips while developing flexibility, balance, and core strength. Suitable for all fitness levels, it offers a gravity defying way to build endurance and tone muscles while making exercise feel like play. For comfort in the harness, wear leggings or bike shorts and a top that covers your midsection. The cost is $35 per person, and space is very limited.

Level 1 Yoga with Chandika

Enjoy a welcoming Level 1 yoga class with Chandika at Kula Kamala Foundation & Yoga Ashram. No prior experience is needed, and beginners are encouraged. The practice focuses on foundational poses with attention to alignment and mindful refinement. It moves at an easy, thoughtful pace with a blend of moderate and gentle energy. This 75-minute aerial experience at Kula Kamala Foundation & Yoga Ashram blends the softest movement with deeply soothing sound healing from gongs and brass bowls, guided by Swaminiji. It is designed to settle the nervous system, quiet the mind, and nurture the heart. No prior experience is needed, and beginners are welcome. The class takes place in the Aerial Yoga Room and is limited to seven participants. Advance registration is required, and each person must register individually. The fee is $20 per student per class. Midnight Swim

Midnight Swim brings a popular late-night tradition to the Wyomissing Swimming Pool, with the lights on for an after-dark dip. It is set for families, friends, and regular visitors who want one more splash as summer begins to wind down, whether that means hopping in the water, relaxing poolside, or enjoying the nighttime vibe. Admission is $6 for pool members and $8 for resident non-members and guests. To reduce lines at the gate, Moonlight Swim bracelets can be purchased in advance at the pool front desk.

Hot Stone Restorative Yoga

Hot Stone Restorative Yoga brings together heat therapy and gentle, supported shapes. Props such as bolsters and blankets are arranged to hold your body so you can relax and release tension. While you rest, Maddie provides hands-on assistance with hot stones to bring warmth and a sense of weight. No prior yoga experience is necessary and you do not need to bring a mat. The price is $30 per person.

The concert has been postponed due to air quality, and a new date has been announced. When it takes place, attendees can bring chairs and blankets and plan to spend the evening. Food trucks will be available on site, including Grecos of Lititz, and parking will be free. Admission is free and open to the public.

Sunlit Yoga Sunday

Find calm in nature as Aqua Om Paddle partners with Berks Nature for a beginner friendly yoga series at The Nature Place. This gentle, all levels class is led by Kami Kiritsis, owner of Aqua Om Paddle, and encourages reconnection with yourself while taking in the sights and sounds of the outdoors. The session is held outside in any weather, with a sheltered space available if needed. Bring a yoga mat, and consider a blanket for the final resting pose. Open to both newcomers and experienced practitioners, it offers a supportive community feel and a chance to nurture the connection between body, mind, and the natural world. Intro to Samskritam and Devanagari Level 1B - August 2026

Level 1B continues the journey started in Intro to Samskritam and Devanagari Level 1A. Over four weeks, students deepen their skills with an introduction to simple and complex letters, voiced and unvoiced consonants, word formation, and simple declensions. Completion of Level 1A is required to participate. This class is offered in person at Kula Kamala Foundation & Yoga Ashram, with sessions held in the Saraswati Mandir, or live via Zoom. Recordings are not available. Additional levels will be offered later in the year, and students must complete all four weeks of a module before moving to the next level. Participation is by donation, with a suggested contribution of $10 per student per class or $40 for the full four-week module. Wine Music Featuring The Royal Picks Beirut Bites

Swing by the winery for an easygoing afternoon of wine and live music. The Royal Picks will perform from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a relaxed vibe for listening either on the patio or out on the lawn. Beirut Bites will also be onsite from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and the event asks guests to support the onsite food truck and not bring outside food. This event is kid- and pet-friendly, but kids need supervision and pets must be leashed and picked up after. Note that outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Creative Writing Workshop for Adults - Summer@RPL

Work step by step through the process of writing a short story, moving from first idea to final draft. Participants will explore character development, world building, story structure, and the core elements that make short fiction compelling. Please bring a notebook with writing materials or a laptop. No previous writing experience is required. Across four sessions, the series covers the story arc, techniques for crafting memorable characters, strategies for creating an immersive setting, and ways to refine pacing, readability, and voice. By the end, each participant will complete a short story of 10 to 20 pages. The series is led by Kristina (Tina) Hartz, a Reading local and writing tutor at Reading Area Community College. They earned an associate degree in creative writing from RACC in 2022 and a bachelor’s in professional writing from Kutztown University in 2024. Tina is set to begin the MFA program at Wilkes University in January 2026 with a focus on fiction writing and poetry. They also lead the writer’s group at the LGBT Center on the first Friday of every month, and when not writing they enjoy camping, kayaking, and hiking.

August 15th Wild Waters Adult Day Camp

Adults can recapture the spirit of summer camp with a full day of outdoor exploration and creativity from Berks Nature. The morning centers on a calm creek snorkeling experience in Angelica Creek, with wetsuits provided, where participants drift through shallow currents and watch for fish, macroinvertebrates, and other aquatic life. After lunch, the focus shifts to nature photography using a mobile phone, with simple techniques for crisp, beautiful shots practiced while hiking along the creek and through the forest and experimenting with light, angles, and composition. The day concludes with guided nature journaling led by staff from Nolde Forest, offering quiet time to sketch, write, and reflect in a provided journal. RCS Summer Sings 3 - Mendelssohn's Duo

A program celebrating the music of siblings Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn centers on Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel's Hiob Cantata and Felix Mendelssohn's Psalm 42. The music is led by Sarah Frook Gallo, Music Director at Lehigh University. Hensel, an early Romantic German composer and pianist and Felix's older sister, created more than five hundred pieces, most of which remain unpublished. Her cantata inspired by the Book of Job was the second of three she wrote in 1831 and did not appear in print until 1992. Felix regarded Psalm 42 as his finest sacred work and even the best piece he composed. Presented together, these pieces highlight the expressive power and individual voices of two remarkable members of the same family.

Muhlenberg Township's RiverFest

Set along the Schuylkill River at Jim Dietrich Park, this three day celebration fills the park with music, food, and hometown pride. Two stages, one plugged in and one acoustic, spotlight more than twenty performers across styles that include bluegrass and indie. A wide mix of food vendors lines the grounds, and guests 21 and over will find wine, beer, mead, and moonshine available throughout the festival. Opening night offers a relaxed preview with limited access to the trail, plenty of bites and beverages, live sets from Vinyl Rush and BunchaFunk, and a fireworks finale. The festival continues as the entire trail opens for a bustling marketplace of food stands and artisan crafters with distinctive finds. This year also marks a double milestone, celebrating a decade of RiverFest alongside Muhlenberg Township’s 175th anniversary. Music highlights include the main stage appearance by Vinyl Rush and BunchaFunk, with additional main stage slots still to come. The acoustic stage features John Rodden, Vik Raoji, Sean Nadeau, James Marsh, the Erin Kelly Duo, Ryan Hand, Sarah Rathbun, Demitri Grivas, and the Blake Hillard Duo. This monthly Dinner at The Inn features a four course, fixed-price menu for $70 per person plus tax. The main course showcases seared halibut finished with a lemon dill butter sauce, and dessert is a rustic plum galette. Kristen Yeager Celebration of Life Benefit

At Redner's Event Center, a benefit will celebrate and honor the life and service of Central Berks Regional Police Officer Kristen Yeager. Tickets will be available at a later date, and sponsorships and donations are welcome in advance. Contributions made in Officer Yeager’s name will directly support the benefit and her family. Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really

Playwright Kate Hamill offers a bold, fast moving reinterpretation of Bram Stoker’s gothic classic that looks at power, gender, and survival through a feminist lens. The story places its women at the center, rejecting victimhood and claiming agency, with humor and theatrical flair propelling the action. It invites audiences to consider whose voices lead the tale and how everything changes when the point of view shifts, delivering suspense, wit, and unexpected turns that refresh an enduring legend. Recommended for grades 7 to 12. Contains theatrical violence and mature content. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for students and seniors, and $12 for children under 12.

Presented by 531 Productions, this nu metal tribute festival channels the Ozzfest vibe with performances honoring Korn by Twist, Disturbed by Stricken, System of a Down by Oldschool Hollywood, and Chevelle by Forfeit.

Annual Pack Dash 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run | Open to the Public

As part of Alvernia University's Homecoming and Family Weekend, the second annual Pack Dash features a 5K followed by a 1 mile fun run. The course winds through the Hill Campus, offering a running tour of the university grounds. Early registration for the 5K is $25 and includes a T-shirt size guarantee. Early registration for the 1 mile is $15 and includes a swag bag guarantee. Proceeds support the Hope Fund, which helps students facing unexpected hardships such as food or housing insecurity, transportation challenges, and emergency medical expenses. The event also supports Clare's Cupboard, the campus pantry that provides free nonperishable food and personal care items to students.

MSC Oktoberfest 2026

Reading Liederkranz hosts a celebration of the MSC Mission of Love featuring live music, German food and drink, and raffles and auctions. The pavilion features heaters for a comfortable setting. Visit with the Sisters. Admission, sponsorships, and raffle donations are available.

Mary's Shelter Casino Night

Now in its fourth year, Casino Night comes to Redner's Event Center for an evening filled with food and drinks, casino-style games, raffles, and the energy of dedicated supporters. Details on tickets and sponsorship opportunities will be shared soon.

Grunge-A-Palooza Invades Reverb. 90s Night with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Foo and MORE

Postponed due to a snowstorm, this 90s night at Reverb spotlights Grunge-A-Palooza with a throwback to the era’s rock anthems. Flannel leads the revival, performing favorites with the shuffle feel of a multi-disc CD player. Tribute sets include Riot Act honoring Pearl Jam, Dumb As You Are celebrating Nirvana, and Fave Grohl showcasing Dave's various projects with a focus on Foo Fighters. VIP tickets are available and include early entry and a meet and greet with the bands.

Junior's Grade

Junior's Grades brings an energetic rock and roll cover show to West Wyomissing Fire Co. Social Quarters as part of a Halloween party. The four-piece band, featuring Brett, Adam, Chris, and Jim, spans hits from the 60s to today, with favorites by Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Pearl Jam, and Kings of Leon. A dedicated production partner handles lights and sound for a professional presentation. Non-members have a $10 cover.

10.25.26 RDG JAM FEST - Fundraising Music Festival

Reading Roller Derby is hosting its second annual music festival at Reading Liederkranz, bringing together live local bands, roller derby demos, and a variety of vendors. Enjoy a bake sale, basket raffle ticket sales, and 50/50 ticket sales, with drawings and no need to be present to win. All day attractions include vendor booths, an RDG merch sale, a dime toss, and a photobooth. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Reading Liederkranz. The event is outdoors and will be held rain or shine, with free parking and indoor restrooms. Advance tickets are $10 and admission at the door is $15, and kids 12 and under are free. Details for vendors will be announced soon.
