Emily Kahn, MSW, brings experience from medical and mental health settings and has supported patients and families navigating end-of-life concerns through hospice and elder care law. Working alongside the library team, she focuses on building community and meeting patrons wherever they are. Patrons can expect a warm, nonjudgmental conversation, reading-based approaches that use books to support mental well-being, inclusive assistance for people who experience marginalization, and creative strategies to lessen social isolation. She provides grief support and limited counseling. When additional help is needed, Emily can connect patrons with community resources related to food, housing, and financial needs, as well as unemployment and services for substance use disorders. This neuro support group meets in person at Geisinger Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital and welcomes people recovering from brain injury or stroke to connect, share experiences, and find understanding among peers. Create a two-sided mosaic pumpkin with guidance from Lisa in a hands-on workshop. Learn how to select colorful glass pieces, arrange them into a festive Halloween side and a classic autumn side, then glue them to a pumpkin form. You will grout one side during the session while the other side will be finished by Lisa as the first side cures, so your piece will be complete and ready to display from every angle. The pumpkin measures about 5 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide. No prior experience is needed. All materials are included, and you will pick up practical tips and techniques that make it easy to keep exploring mosaics at home. Finished pumpkins will be ready for pickup in about a week. The workshop lasts 2.5 hours and costs $50. Seating is limited.

The Exchange Gallery is seeking submissions for a Halloween themed exhibition inspired by Mischief Night, the evening before All Hallows’ Eve known for pranks, parties, and mischief. Artists are encouraged to share work that evokes Mischief Night, Halloween, and the spirit of fall festivities. All media are welcome, including both 2D and 3D pieces, as long as the size does not exceed the gallery’s front door. Creators of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to participate.

His creative work spans from an opera honored with a Jerome Artist Award to a recent solo album that reached a JazzTimes Top 10 list and drew acclaim for unveiling a fresh musical vocabulary. Publications and fellow artists have highlighted his inventive approach and improvisational depth. Parker appears as DJTUBA, a persona that blends classical training with jazz, electronic, indie, and hip hop influences. A frequent commissioner and advocate for new music, he has taken these hybrid programs from dance settings to conservatory halls and professional conferences. His performing history includes a long tenure with the Monumental Brass Quintet and appearances with organizations such as Washington National Opera, Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, Binghamton Philharmonic, Williamsport Symphony, and Scranton Brass Orchestra. He also serves on the faculty at Marywood University, teaching Brass Studies and Hip Hop History. Together, their set centers on bold sounds, cross genre textures, and the conversation between acoustic tuba and electronic elements.

His songs tell vivid stories of prospectors, musicians, riders, golden palominos, and lovable rogues, delivered with a warm, inviting voice. Early attention followed his debut album North From Statesboro, with continued support from acoustic radio including WUMB-FM in Boston, where he is listed among their Top 100 Artists of All Time. He has released more than 30 recordings on labels such as Green Linnet, Solid Air, Signature Sounds, and Reveal, including Work My Claim, recognized by Blues Matters as a landmark in his catalog. Jolly Jamboree 2026 arrives with a bigger and better experience at a new venue, All Home Days Park. Families can browse kid-focused holiday shopping, explore handmade crafts and vendor booths, enjoy food and sweet treats, watch a balloon artist at work, snap photos with Santa, and take part in games along with raffles. Fun for all ages, with updates and additional details available on the event page.

Artists receive half inch thick MDF panels in a variety of shapes and sizes to use as their canvas, whether by painting, drawing, attaching a photograph, knitting around them, or any other approach. The panels themselves are the unifying theme of this Cash & Carry exhibition. After the show is installed, visitors can browse the work and then take part in a numbered selection process designed to keep things fair. Numbers are handed out at random, and when choosing begins the holder of number 1 selects one piece, then takes a new number and returns to the end of the line for another turn. The same pattern continues with number 2, number 3, and so on. Once the initial rush passes, shoppers may select as many pieces as they like. Upon payment, the artwork goes home with the buyer, which is the carry part of the name. Checks and cards are accepted. Most pieces are priced at $30, with $24 going to the artist. There may also be pieces at $10, $15, $20, and $50. Artists may choose to donate more or all proceeds to The Exchange.

Dedicated to sharing the arts across the region, The Exchange hosts a monthly Blues, Americana, and Roots Listening Room in its storefront art gallery, a tradition going strong since 2017. This installment welcomes Rick Fink to Bloomsburg for his first appearance. His solo set blends raw-edged folk blues with a touch of theater and poetic swagger, delivering songs that balance grit, wit, and heartfelt emotion. Fink previously led the roots and rockabilly outfit Gas House Gorillas, whose punk-leaning Americana spirit informs his current work. The high-flying antics of earlier days have given way to a more intimate approach where the song leads and connection with the room matters most. Expect easy singalongs, quick humor, and candid asides, along with nimble wordplay set to tuneful, Beatles-inspired melodies rendered with restraint. He often pauses to share a story or reflection, shaping a living room atmosphere. His recordings include the 2019 album The Infinite Now & Then and the EP Welcome to the World, available on Bandcamp, with CDs offered at shows or by request. Past touring with Gas House Gorillas spanned the United States and Europe, and his solo travels continue through the Midwest and nearby regions, with recent stops ranging from the Big Bend Blues Bash in Ohio to The Bitter End in New York City, plus house concerts around Brooklyn and trips into Michigan and Illinois.
