At Eclectique, instructor Sue Baker of Chalked With Love by Sue leads a hands-on crafting class focused on decoupage. Participants will apply Sunflower and Bee rice paper to a board, then mount the artwork in a wooden shadowbox frame finished with Dixie Bell Voodoo gel stains. The fee is $40 and includes all supplies to create a 12 by 12 inch wall decor piece. Enrollment is limited to 10 seats.

Pig Roast Fundraiser

The second annual pig roast fundraiser at Knead Community Café and Courtyard features an on-site roast and an all-inclusive meal with pulled pork sandwiches and assorted sauces, macaroni and cheese, cowboy beans, and potato salad. The setting includes a comfortable, air-conditioned café and an inviting outdoor courtyard for a relaxed, community-focused gathering. It is a BYOB event, so attendees can bring their favorite beverages along with an appetite and friends. Tickets are $30 per person and are available online only, and the charge will appear as Knead Community Cafe, San Francisco, CA due to the payment processor. Availability is limited to 120 tickets. Participants will apply a flag design to an 11 by 17 inch wood pallet sign for a wall piece, then use the same motif on mason jars with tea light candles to create a glowing accent. PROTECT YOURSELF FROM OFF-LEASH DOGS: PREVENTION, DEFENSE & REAL-WORLD SKILLS

Encounters with off-leash dogs can be unsettling, and many people only discover what to do in the moment. This hands-on, two-hour workshop provides a safe place to build prevention and response skills before they are ever needed. Training covers how to read canine body language and spot early warnings, what actions to take when an unfamiliar dog comes toward you or your dog, safe ways to interrupt and separate dogs that are fighting, and how to respond if a person is attacked. Instructors also focus on staying calm and making sound decisions when adrenaline is high. Proper pepper spray use is taught with practice, and controlled demonstrations with Paul Anthony's Champion Demo Dogs show the pressure and power of a canine bite. The emphasis is on preparation and practical know-how, not fear. Participants leave with a better understanding of dog behavior and greater confidence navigating challenging situations. This session welcomes anyone interested in personal safety and canine behavior. It is suitable for dog owners, walkers, runners, cyclists, parents, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to feel more prepared. Owning a dog is not required. Important details: No dogs are permitted at the workshop, with service-dog exceptions considered by the host. Attendees must be 18 or older and minors are not allowed. Please bring a lawn chair or other portable seating. Registration is required and space is limited. The fee is 60 dollars per person and payment in advance is needed to hold a place. Beginners Violin Camp. Ages 12-17

Perfect for first-time players, this beginner violin camp welcomes ages 12 to 17 and does not require any prior experience. Violins are available to rent if needed. The camp is offered across four separate weeks, and participants may choose one or attend multiple sessions. Tuition is $149 per week and includes a $30 registration fee. Registration must be completed at least one week before the session begins. The $30 registration portion is nonrefundable. Pack Walk- Leash Work

Enjoy a new outdoor leash walking class at Oak Hollow Park in Irwin that blends a relaxed trail outing with focused training. Designed for friendly, non-reactive dogs that are comfortable around others, this pack walk highlights proper leash handling, engagement with the handler, and solid walking fundamentals while working around real-world distractions. Professional dog trainers lead the session and include a brief, structured meet and greet at the start and finish for small groups of up to four dogs at a time, so participants must be well socialized. The cost is $15 per dog, and attendance is limited to ten dogs. Bring your dog, waste bags, and a water bowl; there is a spigot at the park, and treats or a favorite toy are optional. If storms are expected, the class will be canceled with several hours of notice, and training continues in light rain.

Riding Technique Clinic| Beginner MTB Ride

Build confidence on the bike with a hands-on clinic at Flat Tire Co. Bike Shop designed for newer mountain bikers, riders getting back into it, and anyone who wants to feel more comfortable on trails and gravel. The session begins with on-the-bike demonstrations of core techniques, then continues with a relaxed no-drop group ride paired with the monthly beginner outing, Dad Bod/Mom Bod. Expect practical guidance on smoother cornering, when and how to brake effectively, and stable body positioning for climbs, descents, and flat sections. The clinic also highlights typical errors and straightforward ways to correct them so you can ride with more control and ease. This is not a race or a skills contest. Questions are welcome and everyone moves at a pace that feels right. A mountain bike and a helmet are required, and the distance and speed are set with beginners in mind.

Yappy Hour at Sobel’s

Yappy Hour returns to Sobel’s for the third time as a charity fundraiser. Friendly dogs are welcome in the outdoor tent and vendor areas, while only Top Dog therapy dogs representing the guest celebrity bartending teams may be inside. The event includes a basket raffle, a 50/50, craft beers, cash bars, and plenty of dogs.

Latrobe Summer Concert

Mark Flag Day with a festive evening of band music as part of the Latrobe Summer Concert Series, presented by Prima La Comunita’. Pack a lawn chair for a comfortable seat and enjoy spirited tunes throughout the evening.

Steelers Fest at Latrobe brings football fans and families together at Legion Keener Park to celebrate Latrobe’s tradition as the summer home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The event includes family friendly activities, live music from DJ DarkShark, food vendors, and opportunities to browse vendors and exhibitors, with fun for fans of all ages. Admission to the festival is free. A ticket is required to enter Latrobe Memorial Stadium, and tickets are digital only through Ticketmaster. These tickets support Greater Latrobe School District athletic programs. Assistance with digital tickets will be available at Latrobe Memorial Stadium and inside the Timken Pavilion in Legion Keener Park.

The Market at Red Barn Winery August 8

Experience a pop-up market at Red Barn Winery featuring local makers and boutique shopping. Guests can explore vendor booths, enjoy wine and other beverages, try a food truck with a special market menu, and pick up fresh baked treats. Extra experiences include tiny tattoos, permanent jewelry, and a custom hat bar. Admission is free and the event is suitable for all ages. Vendor spaces are currently full.

8th Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival Golf Outing presented by Brighton Land Management

This annual golf outing at Murrysville Golf Club raises funds to sustain, promote, and celebrate Irish culture across Western Pennsylvania. Expect a shotgun start and a complete 18-hole round, plus on-course games, a raffle, and live music with an Irish flair. Registration covers your round, a bite at the turn, unlimited beverages including beer, soda, and water while you play, an Irish-inspired dinner, live entertainment, and a ticket to the Pittsburgh Irish Festival. General registration is $140 per golfer or $560 for a foursome, with a $45 non-golfer option. Early bird rates are $130 per golfer, $520 per foursome, and $40 for non-golfers. Non-golfer passes include dinner, live music, and a festival ticket. Support is provided by presenting sponsor Brighton Land Management Inc., with hole sponsors Irish Design Center and Valentis Security. Enjoy a fun morning with Randy and Lisa Koslosky as music and stories take center stage. Randy leads children in singalong songs, and Lisa brings a story to life with an engaging read aloud. The program is geared toward ages 2 to 6, but everyone is welcome. Parents can sip coffee, connect with one another, and take in a cozy atmosphere while little ones play, sing, and dance. The plan is to gather on the patio if the weather cooperates. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the event.

At the Palace Theatre, Elvis tribute artist Bruno Nesci presents a performance shaped by more than 22 years on stages around the world. He has toured in Canada, the United States, Italy, and Australia. He is the only Canadian Elvis tribute artist to reach the Top 10 of the Ultimate Elvis Contest in Memphis, accomplishing that four years in a row. His credits include appearances with Al Martino, The Platters, The Four Lads, and Ricci Martin, as well as other Italian singers. He has also performed with members of Elvis Presley’s band and vocal groups, among them The Sweet Sensations, The Stamps Quartet, DJ Fontana, Elvis’s drummer, and Eddy Graham, and he has been associated with Elvis’s manager Joe Esposito and Gary Buck. Ticket prices are $37, $48, $53, $60, and $85.
