Providence Artisans Market features the Annual Dog Days of Summer Puppy Parade at Lippitt Memorial Park. In its 14th season at Lippitt Park, the market spans 27 consecutive Saturdays and brings together more than 300 local artists alongside the Hope Street Farmers Market, offering fine art, fresh fruits and vegetables, food trucks, and live music. This is a family friendly event with a puppy parade.

Cruise Night will take place at Colt State Park.

Spend an evening at the zoo with the whole family and set out on a big adventure from a bug’s-eye view in A Bug’s World. Tickets include evening access to the entire zoo along with entry to the A Bug’s World experience. Encounter over 60 larger-than-life animatronic creatures, including caterpillars, beetles, spiders, and more.

An evening on the farm features food trucks, hayrides to the cow pasture to feed the cows, pick-your-own flowers in the cut flower field, and live music by West On Six. Guests can bring friends and family along with a blanket or chair for a fun summer night.

The Parks and Recreation Division, with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company, welcomes The Good Living Band to the riverfront concert series. Known for tight three-part harmonies, rhythmic acoustic guitars, and full, melodic bass, the band draws from a broad playlist that spans favorites like “Friday I’m in Love” and “Ventura Highway,” creating an upbeat atmosphere for all ages. Enjoy a free, hour-and-a-half performance at the Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater, with parking available in the City Hall lot. During the show, Parks & Recreation will collect canned goods and other nonperishable items to benefit the Blackstone Valley Food Center and its efforts to address hunger in the region. Weekly group training at Rondeau’s Kickboxing & Fitness welcomes participants ages 5 and up, with kids, teens, and adults sharing the mat in a low-pressure setting that centers strength, structure, and community. Sessions combine technique and conditioning with mixed-age drills, paced to be inclusive of different bodies and abilities. Coaching stays positive and judgment free, and the space is designed to be supportive for neurodivergent participants, including those who are energetic or sensory seeking. Homeschool groups can access a $8.75 per person rate when at least 10 people attend, and the price is $20 per person if the minimum is not met. Participants are asked to confirm attendance in advance, and at least 10 are needed to secure the discounted rate.

Expressive Arts Academy is a creative camp focused on self-care through hands-on, transformative art-making experiences. Kids will connect their mind, body, and spirit while exploring their creativity over the week, meeting on multiple weekdays during the camp session.

Illusionist David Garrity brings a family-friendly magic show presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company. Known for captivating audiences around the world with inventive magic and eye-catching illusions, Garrity will deliver a free, one-hour performance. The show is set on the stage located between the Park Office and the Daggett House, across from the tennis courts. The historic Slater Park Looff Carousel next to the stage will remain open during the performances. In case of inclement weather or the possibility of it, performances may be moved to the Slater Park Pavilion. Presented by The Empowerment Factory, this free family art adventure brings small community gatherings to the park for families with children in grades K-5. Each session weaves together story time, a hands-on art project, and simple mindfulness practices that support emotional regulation, creativity, and teamwork. Young artists take part in reading and collaborative conversations that highlight themes such as kindness, confidence, respect, and perseverance. Walk-ins are welcome, and registration is appreciated. Please register for each date individually. This program takes place at Fairlawn Veterans Memorial Park in Pawtucket.

Johnston Memorial Park hosts a new season of outdoor food truck nights filled with flavor and live entertainment. Across the season, a rotating lineup of more than 75 regional food trucks will roll in alongside local bands and plenty of cold refreshments. Settle in for sunset views as you enjoy a local beer or wine, try a sangria or a mocktail, and spend an easygoing evening with neighbors and friends. Admission is free, and you simply pay for what you eat and drink. Vendors accept cash, credit, and debit. Every installment features live music, and local beer and wine are served by Good Vibes Beverages. Please follow park guidelines. Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are not allowed. Outside coolers with alcohol are not permitted. Pets are not encouraged. Help care for the environment by taking recyclable items home with you. During the event, canned goods and other nonperishable food items will be collected to support the Blackstone Valley Food Center and its efforts to address hunger in the Blackstone Valley. If weather is poor or threatening, the concert may be moved to the Slater Park Pavilion. Ocean State Ramblers bring a homegrown bluegrass sound to the Cranston Summer Concert Series at William Hall Library in Cranston, Rhode Island. The program blends bluegrass standards with folk and country favorites, along with the group's own original songs.

Movies on the Block returns with a free outdoor screening of Clueless at Grant’s Block Park in Downtown Providence. The first outdoor film series in the city has been revived after a six year hiatus, and this season’s selections sweep audiences from Tempe to Hobbiton. This screening is the third film in the summer lineup. Arrive early, bring your own blankets or chairs, and plan for first come, first served viewing since seating is not provided.
