At Ted's Stadium Kitchen and Pub, beginners can dive into stained glass by creating a butterfly plant stake. Materials and patterns are prepared in advance, so the focus stays on making. Choose from several color combinations and add a dangling crystal bead accent. The session starts with a brief overview of safety and essential tools, then moves into hands-on work with pre-cut glass and preparation for assembly. Participants learn the copper foil method, wrapping edges for clean results, followed by soldering to bring the butterfly together with neat lines and sturdy construction. Once assembled, the piece is hung from a metal hook for display in a plant or garden, and simple finishing steps cover cleaning, polishing, and checking durability. The Ocean State Pops Orchestra brings its 2026 Salute to Summer concert to Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, led by conductor Dr. Brian Cardany. The program blends patriotic selections, popular pops standards, crowd-pleasers, and other uplifting music that captures the warmth and energy of the season, with the possibility of a few surprises. Rhodes on the Pawtuxet offers a historic backdrop for the performance. A Cranston landmark since 1872, it was rebuilt in 1915 after a fire, and its grand ballroom features lofty ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors, and classic architectural details. The venue has welcomed renowned performers and many celebrations, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Set along the Pawtuxet River, it remains a vibrant place for music, dance, and community, making it a fitting setting for this summertime tradition. Admission is $10.

Movies on the Block returns with a free outdoor screening of Clueless at Grant’s Block Park in Downtown Providence. The first outdoor film series in the city has been revived after a six year hiatus, and this season’s selections sweep audiences from Tempe to Hobbiton. This screening is the third film in the summer lineup. Arrive early, bring your own blankets or chairs, and plan for first come, first served viewing since seating is not provided.
